The Sydney and Adelaide route should be brought back first, because Sydney is bigger and has the best International connections. But I guess Tiger as a budget airline cant afford Sydney airport

I think the Sydney route was already dumped before Tiger was grounded. They're based in Melbourne so they're hardly going to start a route between two other ports given their current circumstances.

ADELAIDE AIRPORT’S CHANGING LANDSCAPE

Adelaide Airport’s property landscape has changed dramatically over the past decade, and not just as a result of the new domestic and international terminal, T1.
It may have taken close to 50 years to move from the airport’s temporary ‘tin shed’ terminal to a new facility, but the pace of on-airport development has since picked up considerably.
Adelaide Airport Ltd (AAL) Managing Director, Phil Baker, said very strong passenger growth in recent years meant the company was already embarking on significant infrastructure projects to
keep up with customer demand.“When the new terminal was completed in 2005, we set ourselves ambitious passenger forecasts looking ahead to 2015. We reached those targets in less than half that time, so we’ve needed to revise our timelines for further infrastructure plans,” Mr Baker said. “For example, we’ve now started construction of a new multi-level car park, pedestrian plaza
and associated road network. The $100 million project will more than double the size of the existing short-term car park, with five levels providing short-term parking for 2,000 public and
car rental vehicles.
“We also have plans in place to expand the Terminal 1 building to cater for the growth in
domestic and international traffic.”
Complementing this work, construction of Airservices Australia’s new state-of-the-art air traffic control tower is nearing completion. Away from the terminals precinct, construction has
started this month on a new office complex to be exclusively leased to the Australian Federal Police. Mr Baker said investment in commercial property development was a very important part of
AAL’s business.
“The AFP building is the latest in a number of recent on-airport developments. These developments and commercial leasing opportunities significantly contribute to our ability to
upgrade our core infrastructure,” Mr Baker said. “We’ve recently seen the completion of the 18,000 square metre Manuele Engineering steel fabrication complex in the Morphett Precinct,
and Boart Longyear has moved into its new office and technological warehouse in Burbridge Business Park.

CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON NEW AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE BUILDING
Construction has started on a new Adelaide Airport office complex, which will house the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and its on-airport operations. The 2,400 square metre building
within the airport’s Export Park precinct includes two storeys of office space, undercroft car parking, and will have a 4-star Green Star and 4½-star NABERS rating. The premises will be
leased exclusively to the AFP. Adelaide Airport Ltd (AAL) Managing Director, Phil Baker, said the project will be undertaken by Sarah Constructions and is scheduled for completion in mid 2012.
Mr Baker said investment in commercial property development was a very important part of AAL’s business.

“The AFP building is the latest in a number of recent on-airport developments. These developments and commercial leasing opportunities significantly contribute to our ability to
upgrade our core infrastructure, such as the new multi-level car park and planned expansion of Terminal 1,” Mr Baker said. “We’ve recently seen the completion of the 18,000 square metre

“There have also been several strategic relocations over the past year to make way for the new car park and pedestrian plaza, and associated changes to the road network.”
Mr Baker said commercial property opportunities had proved popular at Adelaide Airport because of its excellent multiple transport links and its close proximity to the CBD. The airport also
offered a range of on-airport services including cafes, retail precincts, a supermarket and even a childcare centre. Significant commercial development opportunities still remain at the airport.

Mr Baker should have also mentioned the Airport also has its own planning controls.

With that kind of certainty who wouldn't want to develop there if the deal with the Airport is reasonable?

I saw the very first Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 arrive in Adelaide in 1997 and went down to the airport yesterday to see their last. Its all Airbus A330's for MAS from now on.

In other news, Pacific Blue (soon to be re-named Virgin Australia) will increase their direct services to Denpasar to 5 flights a week. The additional service will arrive/depart on Saturday's.

Melbourne and Sydney Get to see the new 787 dreamliner from Qantas sometime next month its sad how we'd have to wait until it comes for the ground staff training at the end on 2012. I hope Jetstar or Qantas commence international services with the new 787 from adelaide
