It certainly does. I came back along Victor Harbour rd all the way to South Rd last sunday,( rather than turning off at Robinson Rd and using the light's to turn as i have always done in the past.) And for the usual sunday traffic it handled it well, no hold ups at all.capitalist wrote:interesting

Now this intersection is done, they need to widen South Rd between there and the expressway to 3 lanes each way, Including the D V Fleming bridge.

The intersection has been completed, time to change the thread name
North/East & Eastern Suburbs roads
All the road projects being done at the moment are awesome for the states future.
South road will be awesome once its finally complete.
Has anyone heard any rumblings of future road proposals for the North/East and Eastern suburbs?
North East road is a parking lot in peak hour.
I am just wondering if there are any thoughts about the projects that will possibly happen after all the current ones are finished.
The rind roads around Adelaide should be upgraded also to enhance the new expressways. There needs to be an easier way to get from East to West.

Re: North/East & Eastern Suburbs roads
They're working to ease congestion in the Northeast by upgrading the obahn interchanges and buying more buses.
Re: North/East & Eastern Suburbs roads
The Surrey Downs / Wynn Vale part of Golden Grove Road is going to be widened by 1 lane each way. About dam time too

Re: Montague Road Upgrade
This project is finished I believe. Anyone up that way like to post some finished pictures?
Also might I add, this is a cracker example of a missed opportunity to allow for four lanes (two each way). The road is four lanes from Nelson road but traffic demand must magically reduce before it gets to this revamped section? Surely four lanes to the Kelly road roundabout would be a logical and essential step to alleviate congestion at the Kelly road junction (which has been a shocker in peek hour for years), and eventually through to NE road. Rant over.

Re: COM: Main South Rd / Victor Harbor Rd Intersection Upgra
This is probably not the most appropriate thread for this, but I don't think we have a dedicated thread to this overpass.

McLaren Vale overpass to start
Government14 Oct 11 @ 09:00am
WORK on the $18 million McLaren Vale Overpass will begin next week.
Lane and speed restrictions of 25km/h will be in place around the Victor Harbor and Main Rd intersection, McLaren Vale.
Initial work will involve moving aerial and underground electricity, water and telecommunications services.
Construction of the overpass will follow.
The overpass, funded by federal and state governments, is being built to make the notorious junction safer

THE King Street Bridge will reopen this weekend, ending nine months of lengthy detours for Glenelg North peninsula residents.
The opening of the $9 million bridge - to be renamed the Michael Herbert Bridge - also ends a 15 year battle to have the Patawalonga crossing replaced.
Re: King Street Bridge
Could someone please explain to me at how this bridge took over 9 months to be upgraded?. I'm no expert, but 9 months seems like an awfully long time for such a small bridge.
Re: King Street Bridge
That 9 month period includes the time taken to demolish the old bridge. The construction time is probably somewhere closer to 6-7 months, which I would actually consider pretty quick in the world of bridge building - most bridges take at least a year or two to construct, a few of the biggest ones take nearly a decade to build.crawf wrote:Could someone please explain to me at how this bridge took over 9 months to be upgraded?.
