In recent times, the record is 9, which was set in 2008.

However, I am unsure whether this is our all time record, as I can't remember the 80s and wasn't alive in the 70s.
I was around in the 1980's doing what we are all doing now - by myself - the highest number of cranes then was 8. This might help. I checked every day as I went thnrough the CBD on all working days.

The Market Place (Rowlands) tower's crane is being erected today. Back up to seven, and I believe next weekend the first Rundle place crane will be assembled too.
Walking on over....

Exciting times ... looks like double digit cranes by year end. And that's not counting new RAH, Convention Centre and City West Learning Centre which are in early siteworks stage. Then Adelaide Oval kicks off next March.

Hard to believe this is really happening in Adelaide!

I'm led to believe that we will have 11 cranes up by late November. Double-digits! :D

2 more at Rundle Place and 1 at Franklin Street.

UniSA City West, RAH, the other Franklin Street tower, Convention Centre, 115KWS, 176 Morphett seem to be 'next in line' -not in that order, but surely in that phase of being approved, pre-SWP, but very close to being SWP/UC.
