Going back 18 months or so i pitched use of this product (& similar) to the ACC (as a part of an org separate to sens-adel). Seems it went into the void. The technology is straightforward, low cost and low maintenance.

Just browsed through the Laservision website. Totally amazing stuff!! And it's an Australian company doing it too. A musical fountain combined with the water screen technology could be mind-blowing!

Adelaide needs to be bold here (difficult thing for Adelaide I know).

Here is an opportunity to create a captivating attraction appealing to both locals and visitors alike, unique in Australia.

And drawing people to the riverbank. Isn't that what we're trying to achieve? I would bring my wife and young kids into the city to watch it, and probably have dinner at riverbank too. Whereas without any attraction I probably wouldn't bother visiting riverbank at night, too much trouble with young kids.

I absolutely agree with the sentiments here. I sure hope someone who actually has any say in this project also understands how making wonderful buildings and creating a beautiful environment is important, but it's things like the dancing fountains and light shows that will actualy attract the people and make the area come alive.

Adelaide needs to be bold here (difficult thing for Adelaide I know).

You're on a site that is about development and ideas for a better Adelaide etc, why the need for comments like the one I put in bold? It doesn't help when people passionate like us perpetuate this attitude.

having thought about this in detail, i now change my mind and think the casino should relocate down the railway yards giving it a huge area to really give us a true international standard casino and entertainment precint,leaving the railway station to maybe be a boutique hotel or other activities thus making people walk the entire legnth of the riverbank precinct to access the casino,therfore giving people a reason to walk down the riverfront and take in evrything else on offer, i unfort see a mjority of people on route back from adelaide oval only venturing as far as the casino and then home,unless there is major drawcards down the river i cant see a majority of people heading that way.

that 30m dollars that they're begging for that underground car park at the oval should be put towards a musical fountain. we have the train station and a tram stop just outside the precinct. remove the wetland and put the fountain. there is a million carparks in the CBD that are a 5 min walk away from a tram or the oval. a carpark won't make nearly as much as a return flight and accomodation in a hotel.

I very much doubt the Casino will want to move from its current location at the southern end of the proposed Adel Oval footbridge. They've got the best location in the whole riverbank.

The casino upgrade is only small-medium sized in terms of global casinos and they just don't need a massive land area to expand. It would be different if they were trying to build a mega casino like recent ones in Singapore and Macau, but they're not.

I'm not happy with the way the extra $30m is being spent on 'carparking for the elite'. An extension of the tramline to Adelaide Oval could have been done for that same amount of money.

I don't mean to be rude.....but football attendees are hardly considered "elite" I would also argue a good proportion of the car parking will be to the disabled.

I'm happy with the funding, if we are going to do this - lets do it properly.
