Give a rate holiday/extra height to any developer who can include the current facade (after tarting it up a bit). Then let them build something tall and glassy just behind. That should keep most happy (if not the purists).

That would keep me happy. It works on Grenfell Street.

That is the only part of the building that remains...crawf wrote:
The only slight positive about the Caledonia Club is the front exterior. Other than that it's nothing special.

Glad the ACC rejected this as I like this new proposal better. Another 2 levels another 8 m and a rethink to the design. The ACC are expected to grant approval at Monday's meeting.

Great news!
The new design is a vast improvement over the previous design. This is an example of a rejection being for the greater good.

This must be, what, the 5th proposal for this site?
However, it is by far the best. I like it a lot. Let's hope this one actually gets through and going!

Is it just me, or does anyone else count 12 levels?

I must admit that a big improvement. Matching colours and symmetry between the old and the new

This is the fifth attempt. How long have they been trying to get a development here?
Good outcome this time. I count 13 levels all up??? - must be a missprint somewhere. Good height and location for another multilevel bldg in Sth KWS.
Looking forward to something actually happening this time - all the proposals indicate a good degree of seriousness about it. Will contribute to the 'spine' effect of KWS sth.
