They're trying to distract from the fact they're owned by LN, which is in turn owned by a Japanese brewery.

^^^ This plus it's shite beer anyway. Give me a Coopers.peas_and_corn wrote:They're trying to distract from the fact they're owned by LN, which is in turn owned by a Japanese brewery.
Although they have got us talking about it, so as far as they're concerned it's a winner ad.

Re: Beer Garden
Not so, we may be talking about it, but we sure as hell aren't buying the product - which is the real goal.monotonehell wrote:^^^ This plus it's shite beer anyway. It's been around for a while, I think West End is still stuck in the 1990s with their continuous cringe-worthy SA vs Victoria advertsdsriggs wrote:Does anybody else think this is the worst ad on TV at the moment?
May as well say "We have a chip on our shoulder!" That CAN'T be a South Australian made ad.
Not to mention West End is horrible. Coopers is SA's main beer these days
Re: Beer Garden
You guys do know that SA wine is about a million times better than our beer? I couldnt possibly think of any good reason for anyone to think otherwise.

out of all the cringeworthy West End ads, this one I find quite amusingdsriggs wrote:Does anybody else think this is the worst ad on TV at the moment?

BTW, one of the original Irish pubs - the Brecknock, is closing its doors after tonights NYE celebrations. They havent really updated it much apart from the beer garden renovation, and despite its ferals, its sad to see a historic pub close down. Ive heard it maybe turned into a restaurant with Asian theme
Re: Beer Garden
Coopers is shit, West End is slightly better.

Yes, you are correct. Although i can't recall where i heard the news. Here's a historical factoid - the Brecknock used to be called the 'Brecon Arms' (way before our time). I think the backpacker accomm next door is called the Brecon Inn - unsure if it was part of the recent sale.jk1237 wrote:BTW, one of the original Irish pubs - the Brecknock, is closing its doors after tonights NYE celebrations. Re: Beer Garden
Here's a German song called 'Sieben Tage Lang' by BOTS, translated into English!.
What shall we drink,
seven days,
what we drink,
such a thirst.
There will be enough for all,
we drink together,
roll the barrel inside,
we drink together,
not alone.
Then we want,
seven days,
Then we want,
to come and touch!
And that is not drudgery,
together we create,
seven days,
yes this together,
not alone.
Now we have to strike,
no one knows how long,
yes to a life without coercion
Then the frustration us no longer small,
we stick together,
no one fights alone
we go together
not alone.
What shall we drink,
seven days,
what we drink,
such a thirst.
There will be enough for all,
we drink together,
roll the barrel inside,

not alone.

Try the stuff at the Lobethal Bierhaus and the beers by Beard and Brau (especially Bon Chien, their farmhouse ale) before making claims like that.Isiskii wrote:You guys do know that SA wine is about a million times better than our beer?
