They're trying to distract from the fact they're owned by LN, which is in turn owned by a Japanese brewery.

Not so, we may be talking about it, but we sure as hell aren't buying the product - which is the real goal.monotonehell wrote:^^^ This plus it's shite beer anyway. Although they have got us talking about it, so as far as they're concerned it's a winner ad.
It's been around for a while, I think West End is still stuck in the 1990s with their continuous cringe-worthy SA vs Victoria advertsdsriggs wrote:Does anybody else think this is the worst ad on TV at the moment?
May as well say "We have a chip on our shoulder!" That CAN'T be a South Australian made ad.
um, this is the BEER GARDEN. Maybe create a WINE BAR threadIsiskii wrote:You guys do know that SA wine is about a million times better than our beer? I couldnt possibly think of any good reason for anyone to think otherwise.
out of all the cringeworthy West End ads, this one I find quite amusingdsriggs wrote:Does anybody else think this is the worst ad on TV at the moment?

Yes, you are correct. Although i can't recall where i heard the news. Here's a historical factoid - the Brecknock used to be called the 'Brecon Arms' (way before our time). I think the backpacker accomm next door is called the Brecon Inn - unsure if it was part of the recent sale.jk1237 wrote:BTW, one of the original Irish pubs - the Brecknock, is closing its doors after tonights NYE celebrations. They havent really updated it much apart from the beer garden renovation, and despite its ferals, its sad to see a historic pub close down. Ive heard it maybe turned into a restaurant with Asian theme
i liked the old logo - wasn't it an Irishman vomiting guinness? i might be mistaken...crawf wrote:Their website is currently under construction and includes a new logo.
:S
Try the stuff at the Lobethal Bierhaus and the beers by Beard and Brau (especially Bon Chien, their farmhouse ale) before making claims like that.Isiskii wrote:You guys do know that SA wine is about a million times better than our beer?
