I would not be surprised if many apartments were purchased in bulk by a group of investors - to be let as serviced apartments.

I wonder if it will end up looking like that.

My main concern for this one is The Grace Emily being across the road. It better not impact on their ability to continue to function as a great live music and general fun times venue.

The image is very 'gold coast' but sure is a break from the usual architecture - curves will add a unique feal in the area - somewhat like 'the Wave'.

Also, very pleased this is going ahead - a small commernt perhaps on the future of high rise apartments in Adelaide.

This building is amazing in architecture one of the best I've seen. :applause: its a shame that it lacks height. 60m would've been a great height for this :)

I am sceptical about all the apartments being sold, especially when the website
doesn't reflect this.

I think it is safe to say that this one is dead.

The site is for sale:

This site has been purchased by Tangcheng Holdings, the same developer responsbile for the student apartment proposals at 399 KWS and 260 Pulteney Street.

I sincerely hope, that whatever they have planned for this site is a vast improvement over their earlier efforts.

OH NO!!!

It won;t look as good as Space did I'm sure. I guess on the plus side... it's likely that something will happen on site by this developer. That is now 4 sites they have in Adelaide, as they bought the failed Merc on Gouger site as well. He must have massive confidence in our market...

We lose one great design but gain a lot of height.

From the new Tangcheng website:

In October 2010, the company bought the third site which located in 231-243 Waymouth Street, Adelaide SA 5000, the site area is about 2600 square meters, the project will be designed 20 levels building with commercial and residential. There are two levels of underground carpark; the ground level is the lobby and shops; from the first level to the fourth level are offices; from the fifth level to the twentieth level are all residential apartments. The bedrooms design is similar with the Gouger site; it also contains one-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom apartments. This mixed design can target to different group of customers. The planning application of this project has been lodged as well.

Design-wise = Meh. Though height wise a big yes!, it's a prefect height for that area.

Yes, impressive height and bulk for that area, Hope the western wall is not all bare. But yes, bring it on.

Cheers
