Can't find any renders (probably because if there are any then they're not very exciting, otherwise Westfield would have made sure we could find them without trying) but here's a time-lapse video

Has anyone else heard rumours that Westfield is planning to sell West Lakes after its expansion?

Haven't heard that one, but if there's any truth in it they really should make their minds up! They've already bought and sold it once, then re-purchased it.
As things are the centre is very much up to Westfield standards, and I doubt they'd want to go down to only 2 centres in SA. Therefore I'd be surprised if they wanted to sell it again.

I doubt it's true, why would they bother spending nearly $100 million on expanding the complex and introduce paid parking.

because they may get an increase yield for it than as is.
especially the paid parking.

Westfield also doesn't own 100% of West Lakes. I think it's something like 60% owned by them? Obviously they manage it though

Great pics. They're really flying through this one!
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

You can't really see it well in the photos, but air-con ducts are already going in, as is some (temporary) lighting. The framework for an additional (lighter) section of building has been put up near the new ramp too.
Yes, they are certainly flying through it. I doubt very much it will be a masterpiece of architecture but it will certainly be fast. A stark contrast to the problems at Arndale!

I'm not certain exactly what's planned, but I do know they were trying to find ways to improve the safety and amenity of the existing bus interchange, or else move it completely to another part of the centre.
Clearly the current setup is not well designed at all, and anyone wanting to enter David Jones from the undercover carpark has to either squeeze through the railings separating the bus stops from the carpark, or walk quite a distance out of their way. Neither option is very pleasant.
As I said there was some talk of moving the buses elsewhere, but I can't think of anywhere suitable really unless they're going to put them on that new carpark on Turner Drive on the AAMI stadium land. I doubt that though as it's all set up with parking spaces.

It's currently in a terrible and dangerous (to pedestrians) location.....I once spoke to someone from Westfield and was basically told the govt/dept. of transport dictates where they want the bus routes/interchanges to be...regardless that they have no right to even be on Westfields property! Obviously it's a win-win for all parties but surely a better location is needed. Ps when/if the tram comes to West Lakes....where will they locate that?
