Surely MHS would have to be commiting political suicide to bring up that dodgygate affair in parliament without even knowing the source! I suggest he does know where it came from (he may even have made it up himself). If he doesn't know where it came from, the whole thing is just hearsay.
cheers,

But in all honesty, I think the Tom Koutsantonis thing has been over blown by the Advertiers/SundayMail, as has this dodgygate thing...
What made me laugh though was the poll AdelaideNow had running regarding what to do with Tom's car.

And this is the side of politics which disgusts me. The media blowing issues out of all logical proportion, and either side of politics milking situations for all they are worth. In both we the people end up sick of hearing about whatever the issue is.

I might not vote and just incur the fine, whatever it happens to be.
Or you could vote for an Independent or a Green.

You don't have to vote - you only have to turn up and get your name crossed off the list to not incur the fine.

There were a few mentions in the article about the Libs' financial problems- I knnow in the last election they were *desperately* short of funds- has this changed, or are they still in a lot of trouble?

Okay; anyone want to bump up their election preferences? I'm still on the Labor springboard.

Y'know, I haven't heard a darned word of out them ever since Miss Quiet took to the Liberals helm. It's like they've officially relocated camp to hiding under a rock.

Come out, come out, wherever you are!

The Liberals will regret getting rid of MHS. He at-least had a presnece, and despite his flaws his riverside proposal at-least displayed some vision. Isobel Redmond is like a mixture of Ian Evans and Rob kerin. Even if I was ideologically inclined I would be hesitant to vote for such a disorganised, unfunctional and out of control mob.

I agree with you Will.
Unfortunately Media Mike will still be premier after the election and we'll have to endure another 4 more yeas of him because we don't have a half-decent opposition. If we at least had that, media Mike would be outta here1 One can only hope that there is a good opposition come 2014. Mind you, many younger people may have left Adelaide by then.
I take back many of the things I said before 2010; particularly my anti-Rann rants. While I still maintain some of said opinions, I feel I could have been less arrogant. I also apologise to people I offended; while knowing I can't fully take much back. :)

Young people do not leave a state because of whom is in government at the state level. In fact, although I recognise that revitalising the CBD is the governemnt's achilles heel, in general terms they are doing a good job. Indeed, out of all the state governments they are probably the best. In fact if people left a state depending on who was in government there would be no-one left in NSW. Even I recognise that the NSW Labor government is just crap.

Obviously I wasn't quite clear on what I was trying to say. I wasn't saying young people will leave because Media Mike is in power, but rather the things that he does and the refusal to accept what the Public wants (think new RAH, Aquatic Centre not Central, etc.)
If you think that they are the probably the best State Government, I must ask you to look at the big 30 year visions that the Queensland and Victoria State Governments have released. I think you'll find that they are much more appealing to younger people than building Hospitals on Riverfronts and low density housing around the Outer Harbor Line (think Cheltenham  ) :D

Maybe for your rather narrow criteria of what constitutes a good government our state government isn't doing a good job. However, in time I hope you understand that what keeps people in places are not new stadiums, theme parks or monorails (however sexy these items may be) but rather jobs and employment opportunities. And this is where our state government is in my opinion doing a reasonably good job.

Is that why we (students) are constantly being told by Course Counsellors and by people at Career Expos about the huge number of job opportunities interstate compared to here?
Hence the reason I agree with you when you said:

I think Labor has my vote next election, just the things the Rann government has done and still to do for this state; new airport, new royal adelaide, improved roads, electric trains, mining/defence industries, they've also brought trams back to Adelaide's streets and are building a desal plant. What have the opposition done? not much other than whinge when Hamilton-Smith was in charge, and we havnt seen or heard much from the new leader of the lib party yet.
