Re: New Retail in the CBD
I never knew that Aldi was a high end brand.
After experiencing Aldi I hope it never comes to Adelaide...

Re: New Retail in the CBD
Lol clearly they are not all high end brands I was simply saying no high end brands have stand alone stores here and then began to list stores we do not have, including some of the high end brands. Sorry for the confusion.Pistol wrote:I never knew that Aldi was a high end brand.

You've been on sites like this one to realise we all complain about suburban shopping centres because they are filled with the same stores as every other shopping centre in the country.AtD wrote:So Adelaide is less monotonous and repetitive than other cities?
But then we like to turn around and complain about our high streets because they aren't filled with the same stores as every other high street in the country

Are you serious? Where has this information come from? I would be over the moon if this is true but I find it hard to believe.Ben wrote:In the next few months we are getting
Diesel (location TBC)
If it does happen then it looks like G-Star has some competition for my dollars!
I'm not a fan either, but if everyone dressed well it would be harder to look good.Mants wrote:uhhh

Re: New Retail in the CBD
My mate is high up in the "Adelaide fashion scene" if you can call it that. The first Diesel store will most likely be at Harbourtown at this stage to open in Q1 10 with a CBD store to follow.Tyler_Durden wrote:Are you serious? Where has this information come from? Re: New Retail in the CBD
hmm good list, butBen wrote:Hey will there are hundreds...or do you mean purely brands that are not available anywhere such as dept stores etc? Eithier or the list is rather long.
Did you want specific genres?
For example ALL High end stores are missing except Hugo Boss.
Here are some I can think of.
Armani Exchange
Louis Vuitton
Alannah Hill
Tiffany & Co.
Locoste
Fossil
Guess
Mambo
Mecca Cosmetica
Metalicus
Mossimo
Mooks
Oxford
Pandora
Perri Cutten
Peter Jackson
Politix
Roxy
Satch
Seafolly
Skechers
Stussy
Aldi
Marcs
Morrissey
Mont Blonc
Burberry
Nautica
Jack London
Chanel
Ben Sherman
Dolce & Gabbana
Gucci
Pierre Cardin
Bettina Liano
Ralph Lauren
- Polo Ralph lauren
- Ralph Lauren Purple
- Polo jeans
Calvin Klein
- CK Jeans
- Calvin Klein CK
- CK underwear
Etc Etc
adelaide has:
-a Mecca store in burnside village
-Perri Cutten store in hyde park
Pierre Cardin don't have stores(in Australia at least, don't know about globally) and can only be bought at stockists.
an afaik there isn't a Dolce & Gabbana boutique store in Australia either.
Adelaide's done quite well lately. I've found there's always been a lot of good little boutique stores for women, but men's options are severely lacking. i would love to see a Politix open.
I love the american apparel store though, and CAN NOT wait til Diesel opens!! but harbour town? really? I don't think it will do to well there tbh.

About time Harbourtown got some decent stores!Ben wrote:My mate is high up in the "Adelaide fashion scene" if you can call it that. Re: New Retail in the CBD
There used to be a bar/cafe called Sarahs cafe on Leigh St (near Hindley) that had a alley access way next to it where 2 or 3 cars always parked. I always wished that the alleyway could have been made into some form of an outdoor alfresco area. Anyway that Sarahs has closed
Well my wish has come true, when I walked past yesterday. A new Spanish bar has opened up. Name sounds something like Casablanca and is cool. The inside is great but they have developed a lovely beer garden down that alleyway that ooozes with atmosphere. Have a look. This is the stuff that Adelaide needs more of
