some of the electric speed limit signs had 110 posted today on my drive home.
[COM] M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m
Despite the [COM] flag on this topic, there are still people working on it. The FAQ on the opening says that "Finishing works will continue which may require some lane and speed restrictions, and a temporary closure, to ensure the safety of motorists and workers accessing the site." and "The Shared Use Path will be completed in April 2020."
I'm looking forward to riding my bike on that 43km continuous shared use path all the way from Port Adelaide to Gawler.

If the Northern Connector can be 110 why is the Port River Expressway 90? The Salisbury Highway (extension) is 90 and it's road is terrible so why is the PREXY 90 - it goes through the same flat terrain as the N-C.

Design speed - lane width, road curves, median size and type, crash risk, etc.TorrensSA wrote:If the Northern Connector can be 110 why is the Port River Expressway 90? One of the signs north of Bolivar changed from 80 to 110 around 4pm, but before I could even get to 110 it had changed back to 80. Can't wait, 110km/h will take another 3 mins off

I noticed on the weekend that there are now yellow signs warning motorists of pedestrians and cyclists crossing the ramp from NEXY to PWR, but no sign of the path that connects it to the existing Stuart O'Grady path, and the path from the crossing to the bridge was nowhere near finished either.ralmin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 6:25 pmDespite the [COM] flag on this topic, there are still people working on it. First decent crash on the NC, just south of Bolivar interchange, northbound. 20+min delays and no way of turning around or devouring. No Google maps traffic or VMS yet either
[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m
Maybe they should put the speed limit back to 80km/haaronjameslange wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:57 pmFirst decent crash on the NC, just south of Bolivar interchange, northbound. 20+min delays and no way of turning around or devouring. No Google maps traffic or VMS yet either

Many sections on southbound side are 80/60kmh speed limits

Car hit the guard rail, swerved back onto the road and t-boned a truck. Does anyone know if they left provisions to build the Globe Derby exit? It would have helped a fair bit todayaaronjameslange wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:57 pmFirst decent crash on the NC, just south of Bolivar interchange, northbound. 20+min delays and no way of turning around or devouring. Drove the Connector late last night... It's an impressive bit of infrastructure. However, few criticisms; this seemingly newer design of the exit lanes seems uncomfortably short and not very seamless (think a designated turning lane at an intersection with a slip lane attached), as opposed to those on the S/E Freeway and the Southern Expressway where they are lanes that you drive straight into. Once you change over onto the NEXY, it feels kind of underwhelming and whilst it wasn't busy late at night, makes you wonder why they've built this big new eight-lane motorway which is connected to a four-lane expressway, surely the traffic volumes won't change from one to the other too much? The road surface is surprisingly bumpy considering it's freshly laid, and at night it's really dark even at the interchanges where there is lighting. This all sounds nit-picky, I guess there were things I expected more of considering how long this project has been in the works but overall, it's a good thing to have.

The Connector and Expressway connect at Port Wakefield Road, that would likely make the Connector busier.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 12:48 pmDrove the Connector late last night... Nine News Adelaide reported in tonight's bulletin that a truck rolled at Waterloo Corner at around 10am this morning. A quick search found an announcement on SAPOL's Facebook page from this morning:
https://www.facebook.com/SouthAustralia ... 1059700550Please avoid the off ramp on the Northern Connector at Waterloo Corner. A truck has rolled at the round-about and is causing traffic delays. Driver is ok

60km/h speed restrictions at north and south ends are getting a bit old now. Maybe the southern end is warranted, but the northern end is a joke. 'complete' December 2019? It's April 2020 and still not complete
