The Innovation Centre proposed for Sub Lot E1 will embody the enormous potential that South Australia has to offer and will be the first new development to be built at the innovation district. It is envisaged to deliver a minimum of 17,000sqm of net lettable area which will be underpinned by a 77%* leasing precommitment for 10-years terms to committed tenants:

· Department of the Premier and Cabinet
· Adelaide University
· Defence SA
· BAE Systems Australia

The Innovation Centre will be a hub for the creation of defence related activity, such as AUKUS and the Hunter-Class Frigates, creating jobs to support the State's economy over the coming decades.

FFS, why are Dep. of Premier and Cabinet going in there?

No issues with the tower form however basic, but I'm sorry is that open undercroft car parking?

I know the site has a sloping elevation, but the last proposal dealt with it with generous public meeting space. If it's going to be built on parkland and not the city proper, it should interface better with the public realm.
Should have plenty of issues with it, compared to what was envisaged early on..not the greyed out boxes, but the two towers in the centre..

In true South Australian style, this will end up being a couple of old refurbished buildings and some new bland boxes.
We will be adding it to the long list of missed opportunities.

I’ve got no issue with the facade of the proposed building, I think it will be very good. However , I think the monolithic shape of the rectangular towers needs to be softened by some corner curves, as the site is adjacent to the botanic gardens.

Just regarding Google cloud services, I think they closed their office last week? My family friend who worked there lost their job. I didn’t know it was in Lot 14 but there you go.

What an awful building design for what is supposed to be an innovation centre. This is such a wasted opportunity. The previous Innovation Centre design was at least thoughtful and different to this ugly box.

Thanks for nothing

Bland boring and bland. Obviously the architecture does not have to be innovative only what’s inside.

Proof in itself that SA Labor governments don't know how to entice and maintain corporate/big-business relationships. Perhaps the business sector is well aware of this and hold off on expansion within the SA market until any given state Labor government comes to their door with a plan to offset their expenses or pay them to establish of grow themselves within our state.

Sure, Marshall's legacy was a few small offices from big corporate names in Lot 14, but with that relationship building came the potential for growth and not at the expense of taxpayers (the holistic approach), so far as we now know, those relationships have stagnated or severed and Lot 14 has swerved off in a different direction under the Mali Labor government, and evidently at the cost of taxpayers. Lot 14 had the potential to become a successful CBD equivalent of what Olsen set out with Mawson Lake's business park, or better yet, a niche South Australian equivalent to Silicon Valley. Now, t's merely a hub for our defence contracts that have had their offices situated elsewhere in Adelaide, the same defence contracts that come with an expiry date and (as we've seen in the past) come with the. risk of changing course rapidly under a change in federal governments and their respective policies.

From the renders the new building will be bland and boring. The previous design had slightly offset angles across its height and it least looked interesting.

The area is supposed to be innovative...

Updated signage at Lot Fourteen now in place.

Really interesting to see how this precinct will come together behind North Terrace. Some further new buildings planned near the car park and access into the Botanical Garden.
