News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
Thanks Wayno, 3 years on and still a bit of a mystery then, great location for something other than a car park

Some renders from real commercial about the development…Wayno wrote:Council DA/515/2013: Demolish existing freestanding building at rear of the site, use ground floor of existing building as office and first floor as consulting rooms, remove and replace the verandah and construct a 3 level attached building at the rear comprising of consulting rooms and office at first floor level and offices at second floor level, with carparking on ground level.Dog wrote:Wondering what's happening behind 283? Wakefield Street, (opposite the Wakefield hospital), they have kept the heritage building but been demolishing a single story office building at the rear over the last couple of weeks and look set to start building something

Not sure where to put this but the Chifley site on South Terrace appears to be up for redevelopment.
It is being advertised as a potential mixed use multi building development.

Here is a picture taken 21 Sept 2014 of a 6 story apartment building next the Art Apartments in Flinders St. This new building is on the east side facing Dawkins place -a small narrow St that runs from Tucker St to Frome St (parallel to Flinders St). The outside walls are all 2 story precast concrete panels lifted in by a road crane. Phase 3 will se an 8 story apartment building next to this building on the corner of Dawkins Pl and Tucker St.

An application has been lodged with the ACC for demolition of the current structure at 3-7 Hurtle Square and for the subsequent erection of a 6 level residential building containing 28 apartments. Expected cost is $4.8 million. Designated category 1. DA/740/2014
Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
is this on the eastern side of the square? There are 2 - 1 storey offices on the corner of each side of Halifax and Hurtle Square that are an eyesore because it makes the square look like a little country town. I hope it is this spotWill wrote:An application has been lodged with the ACC for demolition of the current structure at 3-7 Hurtle Square and for the subsequent erection of a 6 level residential building containing 28 apartments. I guess it's the north/western corner? Definitely an embarassment for one of our squares and begging to be replaced by something much nicer and appropriate for the inner city.jk1237 wrote:is this on the eastern side of the square?
