The North Terrace side of that proposal would have been great.

The brown is not good and I agree it doesn't fit in with the existing convention centre.

Fencing has gone up around the Exhibition Building. Looks like Stage 2 is about to commence.

Isn't that the upgrade for the North Tce facade only? Which is part of stage 1?

I thought that stage 2 was the Plenary building redevelopment (next to Intercontinental)?

Yeah stage 2 is the Plenary Building. Which requires the Exhibition Building to be demolished first before they can commence construction.

It will be interesting to see how this one goes because it sits right atop the northern platforms of Adelaide Railway Station. I sincerely hope there are no more platform closures and that they can work around it this time. Gawler line services run from Platforms 8 and 9, yeah?

Surely this should have been completed by now. I haven't noticed any progress with construction for a few months now, anyone know what's going on?

The building should be completed early next year, from what I've heard.

If they stuck to one design or style for the entire convention center it would look much better.
But like I said back when it was proposed along with the next stage, it will look mismatched poop.

I think we're all in agreement on that. A single aesthetic for the entire complex would have been far more pleasing.

The only way I think they could save this design is if they swapped out the brown aluminium cladding for copper panels like at Adelaide Oval. At least then it would have grandeur going for it. As is, there's nothing...

When I first saw it I didn't like it at all, but now I am starting to get used to it and I don't mind it.

We still have stage 2 to be completed as well as the Uni buildings on the other side of the bridge to go up. I think
once it's all finished it will look good.

Slightly scary that this is looking dated even before it's complete.
