The Quest 2 Hotel is up to the second floor. Seems to be going up quite quickly now.
In other news...
Apparently demolition of the Fisherman's Wharf Market building will happen in the next few months. I've heard a rumour that two 20(?!?) story buildings will be built on the site. I call bullshit to be honest but this person seemed quite sure of it.

I have strong doubts and bet that it will be either turned into a car park or left empty like the block next door to it. Its pretty sad to see the lack of crowds down there now especially on a weekend. Its basically a ghost town since the market closed. If the owner of the site actually cared about the long term development of the Port, a project that attracts visitors to the area would be built. I still hope that common sense will prevail but i am not holding my breath.

2x 20 level buildings is doubtful, would be happy to be wrong, but I don't think it's going to be left an empty lot for long. Not with the 2026 election coming.
They'll probably have RenewSA release something mid to late 2025 with work underway well in advance of March 2026.

I'm curious as to the chances of Coles/Kmart popping up elsewhere in Port Adelaide now that both have vacated Port Adelaide Village.

Spotted this in todays paper. Looks like that hotel project is dead as we all knew and the land is now being carved up. Im going to hazard a guess here that if something is built, it will either just be townhouses or possibly townhouses with cafes / small shops at ground level.

I think it's in the areas interests for the government to step in here.

Agreed. It's a crying shame. This was one of the better proposals of the area.

I've posted about it before, but I've always thought it'd be a good spot for a state aquarium.

This end lot was always separate from the other lots which were acquired for the hotel construction, and has been up for sale for some time. The original footprint for the hotel consisted of several separate narrow titles which were acquired for the hotel development, with the exception of the one at the end nearest the lighthouse, which is the one in question. The developer’s website still features the hotel as a major current project, so maybe it’s not dead after all. Local feeling though is that it’s not looking good.
