All State are doing to demolition of this one, noticed the banners towards the top of the building earlier this afternoon.

fencing has now been put up around the old hotel building today, and the footpath along Bank Street is now closed off to pedestrians on the eastern side, and demolition signs everywhere.
Sad to see this cool old building go, but what will be replacing will be great.

We better get some photos before its pulled down

Demolition has already started with most of the roof structure of both buildings on site gone already. All State sure are getting a lot of business at the moment...

I disagree. The word 'demolition' in this regard applies to the building currently on site which is not part of the development.

this is what i've always thought.
demolition is a very vague/misleading title.
the thread title would imply that there is a 59m building being demolished, which isnt the case.

the title SWP seems much better

2 storey building at the back of the hotel has now been demolished. Scaffolding is being erected around existing building.

I think it's all been demolished now, not sure if all the site has been completly cleared tho, hopefully this one gets built asap...

Yesterday when I looked, the space was wide open! very strange. I couldn't see lower than the barriers since I was on the tram, but hopefully construction starts soon!
