Looking forward to seeing those towers actually happen - will make a huge difference to the area

as far as the arvo sun is concerned, atleast the balconies are covered by a verandah-roof, unlike the mac-mansions in Mawson Lakes that have no eves or verandahs over any windows. These apmnts are pretty good considering they will be virtually Housing Trust units. Cant wait for the towers

By the way, I like the med density units in Mawson Central, but hate the rest of the mac-mansion areas of Mawson lakes. Ive heard that Mawson Lakes uses tripple the amount of electricity of any other suburb, because every house has constant running reverse cycle air/cons going and none have appropriate eve protection from the sun. Well over 100 years ago we figured out that houses and cottages stay cooler with a return verandah. Atleast they do well on water consumption though

Yes, the church site is up for lease. There has been a change-of-use application lodged so that the church can be used as a restaurant. Also, the rear part of the church (the hall) will be demolished for one of the towers.

Cheers for the update and welcome to S-A . I'm glad to hear that building will be demolished, it doesn't fit in well with the existing church.

So at the rear of the church there's going to be one of the three apartment towers, not the envisaged 15-level glass-facade hotel seen here on S-A and in the paper earlier this year? Can you clarify?

The church is staying. Only the hall at the rear is being demolished.

The old bus station will be demolished and the area between the new bus station, behind the church and to the old bus station will be the development site for the towers.

Not sure about the renders, they may be out-of-date.

Oh and yes, there are still three towers. The hall is being demolished for ONE of these.

so, are there 3 or 5 towers being built??
