Thanks Will, things are definitely looking good.

From a development point of view, it's interesting to note that CC3 will offer only a bit less office space than CC1. From memory, it'll be on a smaller block, so it should be a decent size.

That's impressive, good level of pre-commitment and absorption rates on all the pre-2007 developments.

Westpac House

Westpac signage has started going up on the old Santos House. Just a "W" at this stage I think I will be dissapointed with the end result as 99% of their logo is black and therefore will not light up. Better than nothing though. Should look good during the day.

How do you figure that, Most of the Nova 919 logo is black but it still lights up at night.

Black does not light up? Are you sure it does not have a white outline or something. I can't imagine black lighting up? Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds uncomprehendable.

Yeah it has white outline, so I would say thats what there going to do with the Westpac signage. It would be pretty pointless not having lit up signage on the states tallest building.

Good observation Pants!

The old CCT3 proposal was for a 12 level/ 45.5m high building with 16 ooo sqm2 of office space. If it is now 30 000sqm2, that would mean that the new redesigned tower will probably be double in height; 90m ??

This whole terrorism debacle has gone way in over some peoples heads.
City Central does not house the state government.

In addition this is not some crazy conspiracy theory of mine. It was actually mentioned when the re-development of the Reserve Bank Building was approved. It was stated that office accomodation was the best possible outcome for the building due to a lot of factors amongst which 'security' was mentioned.

CC3 site is about 2/3, mabye 3/4 the size of CC1 footprint. To put 30,000sqm of office space on that will definetley push it beyond 100m, mabye 110.

ok then...

what about Rialto then?

the tallest building doesnt necessarily need "lit up signage"
