Given it's position i doubt we will see a third crane base?

A couple more shots of the second crane going up today. It's going to be a bit weird seeing this complete beast of a building take over this relatively flat area.

Its a shame they couldn't have incorporated the whole block, as the building that buts up against this hospital will only have natural light from the eastern side for 13 floors. What possible use could that take? I imagine only Office as residential apartments dont sell if there aren't windows to all bedrooms.

This. I also can't see the laneway arrangement working as seamlessly as hoped between ambulances and private vehicles... Who knows, maybe there might be potential in the future if Calvary need to expand that these sites are incorporated (granted if the apartments don't make it up on one of the sites).Ben wrote:Its a shame they couldn't have incorporated the whole block, as the building that buts up against this hospital will only have natural light from the eastern side for 13 floors. I guess if Calvary plan to expand in the future than the small site could become a plaza or something between their buildings, who knows but i don't think it is detrimental.

wait, what about the North-facing façade ? If I get it right than South & West are against the hospital and North & East are 'free'. So isn't it just a question of layout, for example if I understand the Aria floor plan correctly, apartments essentially draw direct light from the north and indirect (which can also be done in this location as there should be enough space between the building and the hospital) from the south.Ben wrote:Its a shame they couldn't have incorporated the whole block, as the building that buts up against this hospital will only have natural light from the eastern side for 13 floors. No there are two buildings. So the northern one is set to become solea apartments. Further blocking the middle building.

What's a bet that the current OTR will be developed into an expansion of the Calvary in the future, with a pedestrian bridge over Angas St linking the two buildings.

Peregrine/Shahin have never sold a petrol station in their lives, can't see them ever selling this one. Plus it was expanded not long ago with O'Portos plus Jetts which has a very long term lease.
