Spire was pretty good. Hopefully now that the site's been sold the next proposal will be even taller and even nicer. Just noticed today how dense that area is going to be with GPO Tower, U City, West Franklin and possibly 42-56 Franklin Street now that Kyren Group bought that site.slenderman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 4:53 pmNot to take this too far off-topic, but Spire was an approximately 100m proposal in Adelaide last decade that never got up, but was to be located on Bentham Street. There's a video of it on YouTube:

At the time Spire was one of those precious few buildings keeping the community together that eventually gave rise to this place. We owe that empty lot of land a lot.slenderman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 4:53 pmNot to take this too far off-topic, but Spire was an approximately 100m proposal in Adelaide last decade that never got up, but was to be located on Bentham Street. Regarding the building's use (assuming it's a serious endeavour etc), don't we already know based on the info from the JWDT site?
"In 2016 JWDT Group acquired a block of land in the core area of Adelaide CBD, and will develop an iconic building, namely DOMINATOR 1, on the site. The project will be a high rise building with conference center, a high-end boutique hotel and city skyline apartments, it is scheduled to be officially introduced to the market in 2017, and fully launched in 2018."
Or am I missing something?

I'll have a punt and say Pruzinski will be the architects

It is mate. It’s absolutely a serious proposal. Whether it gets built is one thing, but they haven’t come this far for fun.

That's great to hear, despite my scepticism.

Apologies for everyone who got excited by seeing this bumped, but given the Datong collapse it would seem we can now safely say this project is very unlikely to proceed.CDJ wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 4:32 pmThe developer built Aria. U2 is now under construction. I would regard them as having more credibility than most developers in Adelaide. I am working on this project. I'm confident that the developer will build on this site and it will be the tallest building in Adelaide.
I assume Rev's 'comment' is an attempt to provoke me into releasing images. There is zero chance of this. Everything is strictly confidential until it goes in for DA, which should be soon.

Work is continuing on 207 Pulteney (not called Dominator 1 - that working name was dropped last year). The technical preparation ahead of approval process is underway. It is not a short process as I'm sure most of you would understand. At this stage the project is definitely still proceeding, with intent to build the tallest building permitted.
JWDT and Datong aren't the same entity. Datong's specific cashflow issues are not affecting 207 Pulteney.

Thanks for the update and clearing up the part about JWDT and Datong. Very happy that this is still alive.CDJ wrote: ↑Wed Mar 14, 2018 1:36 pmWork is continuing on 207 Pulteney (not called Dominator 1 - that working name was dropped last year). Here's hoping we get to see the application made public soon!
