Apart from again losing pontential height in yet another prime position, something that really bugs me is the design inconsistency, at least when the building's not tall enough to really pull it off properly. We've got random balconies and lego-style ledges sticking out willy-nilly, psuedo-checkerboard pattern with the black and white paint, some kind of exposed yellow framework in the middle, etc. It immediately makes the old yet sleek glass building next-door look way better. It's not all bad, but they need to look at some of the other buildings popping up in other capital cities, because this kind of clunky, boxy style popping up around Adelaide has never really sat well with me.

Bit of action on site today, with temporary fencing being put up. Half of the car park has been closed for about a week.

Demolition of the building attached to the theatre maybe starting??

[COM] 16 Levels UNO Apartments - 102 Waymouth Street

New development on Waymouth Street.

At first I thought it might have been a new design for the space development on waymouth street
but this building has a different address.

Looks similar to Conservatory. Does anyone know whats on 102 Waymouth street at the moment ?

The apartments start from 195,000 and look to be on the cheaper side. Lets hope they get snapped
up quickly and development goes ahead later in the year.

Check it out :

Just to clarify, this is the low-cost housing project that is being financed by the Commonwealth as part of the economic stimulus package.

So we've come down 10 levels from the original. Bldg itself looks good -a few metres fom KWS eh - wonder what that really means. Prices attract interest immediately - have to wait on design for re floor areas, plate heights etc before any action on my part. Looking forward to seeing this development.

oh hello 8) . Im not just interested in this just as a development for Adelaide, but actually to live in. The prices have definitely attracted my interest, but as skyliner says would like to see a floorplan.

So I take it that this development is part of a non-profit stimulus project by the govt. I find this very good

I drove past the site today, and preliminary works appear to have already commenced. The site has been fenced off, and the gravel surface of the carpark has been ripped up.

Should we change status to 'SWP'?

I heard the radio adverts today as well. Sounds like this one is full speed ahead!

June start seems pretty quick, I would say September would be more realistic.

ADELAIDE - TOWARDS A GREATER CITY DEVELOPMENT
The Government-funded Uno? The Government-tenanted City Central 8? The Government-tenanted Police HQ? The Government-funded HMRI? While no self-respecting landlord would turn down the Government as a tenant, the fact remains that a hefty percentage of major development in Adelaide exists because you and I are paying taxes like good, nodding citizens.
