The only Russian church I know of is the Russian Orthodox church out at Wayville, and I very much doubt that any associated with them is out there preaching like a dick head and getting in peoples faces.Ben wrote:I asked the guys once and they said something about a Russian church or something?
I hear ya! Never knew they did this. Actually never really thought about it!The Scooter Guy wrote:Finally, a machine that will give the O-Bahn a smoother ride!
You've hit the nail on the head with that comment Mono.monotonehell wrote:Mate, the Gay community might be a bit flamboyant and colourful, but lumping them in with these nut jobs is totally wrong.
Adelaide's gay community is practically silent and almost non-existent. Except around Feast.
The HUGE difference between the gays and these preachers is gays don't want force everyone to be homosexual.
Gays' message: hey we exist - let us live.
Religion's message: become one of us or else.
Back seat of your car or certain parklands that you've heard about?.. generalising don't you think?. The majority of gay community are not sexed up or vocal when it comes to equal rights but many do support having those rights. Being attracted to the same-sex is very much well accepted these days, but it's not accepted enough in our ancient law system, eg equal marriage/civil union. It's criminal not to allow an tax-paying citizen the same rights as a straight person just because they happen to be born gay, it's similar to when women or black people were denied the same rights as white men.rev wrote:What I meant was we don't need them to constantly remind us they are gay or here their sob stories. Get on with your lives, the rest of us don't care what you do in your bedroom(or the back seat of your car or certain parklands we've all heard about lol) or who you do it with.
They want acceptance and to be treated like normal people. Well, the majority do just that. They accept them, and treat them like they would anyone else.
I'm all for you guys being able to get married in civil ceremonies and what not.AtD wrote:I can't marry my partner of 6 years. Changing this requires a change in the law. That's not gonna happen if we sit quietly in the corner.
Oh, I didn't mean anything negative about them.IAintTouchin wrote:Hey I used to go to that church no, they're not those street preachers, they're nice people. What "church", or denomination are they from? Don't tell me it's those Born Again guys that bought the old Greater Union on Hindley St?

That's nothing to do with our OBahn. That's a machine they use in Cambridge to check the alignment of their busway's tracks.ac83 wrote:I hear ya! Never knew they did this. Actually never really thought about it!The Scooter Guy wrote:Finally, a machine that will give the O-Bahn a smoother ride!
Wow. At nearly 6 mins long, I doubt it's being shown on TV. But it deserves to go viral!Wayno wrote:New Victorian TAC advert - timely given the xmas season festivities.
It's quite graphic - are they really showing this on TV?

They're not showing this six minute montage on TV, but realise that this montage was made from TV adverts over the last 20 years. So all of it has been on TV at some point.Wayno wrote:New Victorian TAC advert - timely given the xmas season festivities.
