As I have already said, I got some photos of the Beeline bus in it's last day of full service.

Image
Timetable information, soon to be made redundant.

Image
And the replacement service. Unforunatly, this was only placed at knee height!

Image
Image
Crossing the tramline and heading up North Terrace under Morphett Street Bridge.

Image
A bit blurry but a City West bound service along North Terrace.

Image
Taking a final bow in Rundle Mall.

Image
Heading toward Franklin Street. Several previous services heading north of Victoria Square that I saw were packed to the rafters so I was lucky enought to get a partly empty one!

I was half asleep when I heard it, but Im sure that Triple J news just said half of the CBD has been locked down due to a shooting. Was I dreaming, or was Triple J making up their news again?

There was a shooting last night at the Colonel Light Hotel in Light Square.

I was actually in Light Square when it happened. The police response was very quick, and yes they practically locked down Light Square for a few hours.

I'm first back, uploading pics now. It was a freaking fantastic day, great weather, the pollies came out to play, I got to chat to Harbo about Sensational-Adelaide (and, yes, that is DEFINITELY him) and managed to get a whole lot of pictures and videos of all the trams leaving. Hold tight, it's coming up!

The trams were performing a rather unusual service today (note only for today). The western platform was being used for Glenelg to Victoria Square services while the eastern platform was being used for Victoria Square to City West shuttles. The shuttle had to head south first before passing north back over the crossover (in a rather disruptive move) to head to City West. Also, the normal eastern platform was only being used for unloading, while the Victoria Square side of the tram was being used for loading.

I have several photos which I will upload later.

I was down at CityWest from about 11:20 am. and was there when Flexity 101 and H 351 arrived more-or-less together, and then went down to Victoria Square on 102. Took several photos, which I'll put on Flickr shortly, but I had my video setting wrong, so the videos I took have only come out at very small-screen size. Still, they might be watchable. I asked a few groups of people if anyone was from Sensational Adelaide, but only got blank looks in return. I was wearing light blue jeans, a blue(ish) check shirt, and had a backpack on my back. Hopefully one of you caught me in your photos, so that I can point myself out!

Not sure how many trams were running the shuttles - definitely 101, 102, 105, and 111, and I think 107 might have been there too.

Just come back and Normangerman is right, I have a stack of photos and videos (I used my 1gig camera memory card plus internal memory for a total of 115 videos and photographs). I however wasn't standing on the side of the road though because I couldn't make it there. Instead, BillD and I went one better, we got seats on the H set on lead car 351 and we both had a ball hanging our heads out the window as we made our way down. We were able to feast on the food supplied and catered for by the Hilton Hotel in the marquee as well as being present for all the announcements and the official opening.

Exclusive V.I.P. photos coming soon with a video (probably 10 minutes long :) ) coming later on.

Did anyone notice the Savings and Loans tram? looks like they will have trams covered in advertising like Melbourne.
