The Ent centre have an ad in the paper giving us the gist of whats happening there. They say it'll be all up a running in early 2010. But I'm just glad its not another State Government announcment/look what your government is doing just for you (even though thats our job and you may not have even wanted it in the first place) but vote for us cos we're doing stuff

The Warehouse is the Theatre, the Dome is the Orb, and each "pillow" (panel) can be individually lit (like Rundle Lantern?), and people can design digital art for possible display on the Super Screen...

Lit up like the Lantern - Then it will be the ent. cent.in a fuller sense of the word. Will be interesting to see. Next coming to Adelaide early Jan - will have a look.

That sounds great! Makes the lining up to get into the place a little less boring. I think the dome looks great compared to the airport hangar look it was going for before.
Sorry for my ignorance but what will the balconies around the new building be part of? Functions or something similar?

There's no doubting, it does draw the eye as something different.

This is a pretty awesome upgrade. Congratulations to all involved on it I say. It at least provides a striking first impression rather than, as others have pointed out, the aircraft hangar aesthetic. I wonder how this will speak to the Channel Seven effort...
That whole intersection could and should be something really interesting. It's got parklands and the river, even a booze factory to add that industrial touch. Big screens on the fish factory on the other side of the road would add something. Trams will help a lot. An interesting thing in the middle of that mighty median strip... Yeah!

I don't yet know how practical, comfortable, or user-friendly the actual facilities will be, but based purely on how it looks from outside, for once I'm impressed. VERY impressed!

It was fixed up years ago. Have you been recently? Admittedly it's still not one of the worlds best entertainment venues but it's much better than it was.
Let's be grateful for what they ARE doing. One major project at a time, we'll get there!

Now that they've updated the outside of the Ent centre and built a newer smaller venue there I hope they've bugeted some funds to upgrade the actual foyer of the old Centre itself. I was there a couple of weeks a go for a concert and it was still looking pretty dated and early 90's..

I am impressed by the design... but I think it all looks very out of place. I'll reserve judgement until it is all up and running with the tram line.

I have to say that 'warehouse' has improved enormously with the colour and attached section on the side. Overall, starting to look far better than I thought it would. Just teaches you to keep quiet about aesthetics till the product is done.
