Hi Guys, im a new poster to this site but have been watching with interest over the past few months. i think its a fantastic forum and dont doubt that youve played a part in the boot up the bum this state has needed. well done and keep it up, its obvious the powers that be are also observing.
just a quick request, is there somewhere that i can see an overall snap shot of CBD development? (recently completed and in progress). it would be great to see a map with all projects marked on it too see just what is going on and coming up??
thanks very much

Hi Davenport, glad to have you onboard. And thanks for your kind words about this forum, and it's members. Just for your interest, AtD maintains the projects list for both S-A.com and SkyscraperCity forums. You can check the projects thread here :
http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/for ... ?f=1&t=460
It's a well organised thread on all the projects, recently completed, proposed, rejected, etc.

Thanks to Mr Hines again for yet more great pictures.
I can't help but think how great Hindmarsh Square would look without the roads criss-crossing it though. I'd love to see it ringed by roads like the southern half is, except not as wide and without the angle parking. Any chance we can get a rendering of that?

Hi
I'm a new poster but have been watching this site and the skyscraper.com website for a few years now.
I thought it was a good time to drop in and say hi and thanks for all your enthusiasm about Adelaide and its future.
I really wanted to point Davenport to our City Report Card (unfortunately a year or so out of date by now) that gives (among other things) a snapshot of city development as at Sept 2005. It's a starting point anyway.
http://www.capcity.adelaide.sa.gov.au/p ... ap_web.pdf
I am currently looking a more efficient and useable way of getting this sort of info together and putting it out there for others to see and use.
JohnM
PS I thought you might also appreciate the reflection of the Town Hall
(edit: sorry had to remove the image, it was too big)

Thanks for the pointers Howie and JohnM. It really does show things are on the up in this state. JohnM, your City Report Card is a fantastic piece of work and i look forward to the updated version...hopefully showing, amongst other things, a further reduction in loss of skilled/talented people.

Davenport, I am in the process of constructing such a map. Draft done only at this point. Will put it up on the CBD section when done. It will cover construction proposals, approvals and bldgs u/c over the past 12 months. It will deal only with buildings 10 floors upwards.

Those views of Hindmarsh Square look fantastic! Just as long as the proposed apartments and hotel rooms have sufficient sound insulation to support the continuation of my Saturday night noisefest, all the better.

Paul from Pruszinski architects reports that Bovis Lend Lease will be on site to start construction in a few days time.. final approval was just given from the government for this building. I'll try to get down there for some happy snaps when it begins.. keep a look out guys this one's going up fast.

Great news. Can't wait to see this one start rising. Such a prominent position and a well designed, environmentally friendly building. Tallest one to go up in Adelaide since CC1.
We really could be about to witness the most amount of building construction activity to have ever occurred in a short period with the Adelaide CBD if the economy remains strong. The amount of tower cranes around the CBD by next year could be crazy, even if only half of the proposals go ahead.

Hello! Well I may as well get on the bandwagon and introduce myself too!
I've always been keeping a keen eye on the tiser for the last few years now for new and upcoming buildings in Adelaide, but now i have it all on one site in front of me, its great! not to mention the advertiser is an absolute junk of a news paper which seems to play devils advocate with many proposals.
once again its good to see Adelaide finally moving along, i'm loving the city central and proposed precinct developments. Unfortunately I have noticed though, most of the threads here do end up in, 'and ACC has rejected' or 'this building will be dramatically scaled down', and 'that will never happen here'. ACC, GET SOME NUTS!
