Yeah I could see it, but seeing as it's presenting that side to the main square of the city, I think they should do moreGoodSmackUp wrote:I don't mind the blank wall to be honest... Article in todays Business Journal from Watpac saying that Central Adelaide will top out this Friday and basically they will move to Kodo over the next month or so reading between the lines.

Might have been raised already, but is the reason for the blank westerly wall due to privacy concerns from the law courts next door or is it something else behind it?Ben wrote:Demolition of buildings is happening in a couple of weeks.

I was told its to reduce heating/cooling cots and give the building a high environmental rating. I don't think it will be too bad but time will tell.

It has something to do with a tight developer and a lazy architect.noted wrote:Might have been raised already, but is the reason for the blank westerly wall due to privacy concerns from the law courts next door or is it something else behind it?Ben wrote:Demolition of buildings is happening in a couple of weeks.
You can achieve a high environmental rating without resorting to a 103m blank wall.

And to that I say the terminals in Dubai airport are entirely glass facade, have no aircon, and are sitting in the middle of the desert.Ben wrote:I was told its to reduce heating/cooling cots and give the building a high environmental rating. I don't think it will be too bad but time will tell.

C'mon guys time to move on. No amount of bitching and moaning is going to change the fact it is a blank wall. Lets just see this for the positive that it is the tallest building to be built in Adelaide in 25 years!
[COM] Re: 27-31 Angas Street | 103m | 30 lvls | Kodo Apartments
I'm sorry but that only outlines how poor this design is. We've waited 25 years for... this? Adelaide can do a lot better. We already have a very concrete, boxy skyline. This will do us no favours. Look at how 91 KW St turned out... This will have more of an impact.

No sorry Ben, I hate everything about it. From the cheap looking design, to the tacky colour scheme and yes- that massive blank wall. The fact that it is the tallest building in 25 years doesn't excite me, it just disappoints me that we waited so long for this crap. I get where you are coming from though- I will probably continue to bitch and moan about this one until the day I die, but I will save it all for all those lucky people outside of this forum.Ben wrote:C'mon guys time to move on. What I'm about to post could be considered trolling as I know what the reaction will be but here it is anyway. Kodo was featured on "Australia's best homes" on channel 7 at the weekend and here are some screen grabs of an angle not often seen.
Not sure if there are plans to turn angus street into a garden? Lol

Pretty sure that's the reserve bank behind it, i.e. the two office buildings in north east corner of vic square.
