Went past this site today - workers are back and it appears to be full steam ahead. I'll be very interested to see how this one comes together, especially the "rooftop urban farm".
All up, the development will feature 250 apartments and 71 terrace homes, with the market square – The Agora – having a supermarket, eateries, cafes and shops.
Almost one third of the development will be open and green space, half of which will be publicly accessible and some of which will include a rooftop urban farm practicing regenerative agriculture.

lets hope so, although I've seen a lot of private developments get stalled after the land clearing phase is complete lately

Disappointing that the architecture isn’t more inspiring than “bland shades of grey boxes”, but that level of greenery is what we need more of in modern developments.
Let’s hope they don’t cheap out on the planting when it comes time to finish the job.

They've gone all out with the marketing. Clearly "affordable housing" is not on the agenda for this development.
Yeah, from memory their cheapest townhouse in the current release is priced at around $950 thousand.

Update 1/6/2025, for froestville. Nothing is happening at the west end (closest to Anazac Hwy). The hole in the ground is still the same. The only activiity has as at the far east end where curbing for a roadway has been poured and some street lights have been installed.

I can never understand why they build roads, gutters and streetlights before they've started building houses. In Bowden they've literally had to dig up these sorts of roads, gutters whilst removing trees and streetlights to build blocks of housing, it's wasteful and the subsequent patch up jobs always look shit.

Part of the whole roads construction process that happens before houses are built is that the individual blocks are filled to a certain design level to ensure adequate drainage of the subdivision (ie the individual parcels of land are higher than the adjacent roadways).
In hiller subdivision (Mt Barker, Seaford, etc) retaining walls are built during this process to ensure engineering standards are consistent across the development and to minimise disputes once blocks are sold.
The O'Halloran Hill example is obviously a worst case scenario, but also isn't really relevant to most housing developments due to it being Community Titled (it's more similar to an individual apartment building than a larger subdivision such as Mt Barker, Seaford or this development). In the O'Halloran Hill example, the road is Common Property, with ownership shared between the individual property owners, similar to how the owners of apartments in a building share ownership of the hallways, lift, and other common areas (and are liable for upkeep costs).
In a typical subdivision, once roads (and reserves/parks) are built, these are vested with the local council who then becomes responsible for maintenance, etc. These roads then become public property, with no individual owning their patch of road, and the service providers (ie SAPN, SA Water) being responsible for service upkeep.
Going back to the O'HH example, when the sewer through here needs maintenance in 50 years time, it's highly likely that the individual owners of the properties would be liable for the cost (exact cost breakdowns and liabilities would be determined by the agreed upon rules of that individual development).
This is different to this development where the costs of sewer upgrades would be the responsibility of SA Water, with this ultimately paid for by everyone in the state thorough their water bills.
