One of australia's highest regarded markets and asian food precincts is in a dead zone?

I think the problem with primo in that location is that it's dishing up average-at-best food straight across the road from, for example, a dumpling house which is held as an institution. It was also a fairly unappealing fitout, imo.

That whole block needs residential development, but quality, not quantity; a couple of developments would really change that particular area for the better. Personally, I feel the bus station was built in a really bad area of the city, taking up a chunk of prime real-estate that could have been better utilized.

The restaurant didn't look too inviting to dine in at and the restaurant was only open during the lunch time period, to think they might of attracted some diners if they had a dinner service too especially on a Friday or Saturday night. I would love to see a Fasta Pasta in that location

Primo used to be open nights, but stopped due to lack of business.

I still can't believe that Villis was to be the original tenant but the ACC ended up in dispute with them on the basis they wanted an alcohol license with 24/7 trading hours....maybe with the change of times/legislation they could be begged to come back?

A place like Primo, with food of very average quality (although affordable) will always struggle in a competitive food precinct/eat street like the Central Market precinct.

That's why they do better in suburban and outer suburban locations where their competition isn't as strong.

They should've learned from when their Rundle St. restaurant didn't work.

O'Connell Street also had one that failed too.

I wonder if they realise most people use 'Primo Quality' as an insult.

Not exactly closing down, they are moving into a leased shop in Charles Street.

In what I regard to be a below the belt move, Grill'd will be opening at 187 Rundle Street (formerly Red Rock Noodle Bar); which places them directly across from Synagogue Place where Fancy Burger trades. Of all the prime real-estate they could have chosen to set up shop in the CBD they just happened to choose the place incredibly close to where established SA burger business sits. Good luck to FB, I won't be dining at that Grill'd.
