There's a list of about 20 potential new buildings.
GHS - can you give a link to this list. Encouraged by your post and acknowledge your point about Vue, but without lists of proposals I believe there was much more actually evident going on in Adelaide a year ago.
BTW - I hardly ever write anything negative about Adelaide because I don't have that mindset about it.

Here's a list of buildings that are proposed or are about to startup in Adelaide.
There are rumours that another couple of proposals are about to come through including
another building similar to Vue and a new building at Glenelg. Some of these proposals may never
go ahead but still it's a solid list. The top 7 are all very good chance of going ahead over the next
12 months.
Unisa Centre for Cancer Biology - North terrace
Adelaide uni Building - North Terrace
Vue - King William Street
Central Adelaide - Grote Street
115 King William St
Adelaide Casino redevelopment
Palladium - Light Square
U2 - Waymouth Street
East Park - Dequetteville terrace
New Mayfield
Palladio Angus Street
135 South Terrace
261-263 Pulteney Street
Queen Adelaide Club - North Terrace
Currie / Rosina street
199-200 North Terrace
203 North Terrace

New Mayfield is also a very good chance of going ahead, so that makes at least 8 developments which
should start up over the next 12 months or so. What do you think skyliner ?

Going a long way off from the original topic here.
I am going to copy the list into the crane counter thread.

On Uranium, the commodity is sitting at near record lows on the spot market. Most uranium miners are actually losing money digging the stuff up currently. The thinking is that Japans shutdown of its Nuclear reactors has completely shifted the supply/demand equilibrium into supply surplus. If the Japs turn their reactors back on, India starts importing Oz Uranium, and the flow on from the Megatons to Megawatts completion to actual uranium sales occurs... well there could potentially be a massive increase in the price... All speculation.
On Rex. Wow. What sad reading that one is. Be cautious of any announcement they make from now on. I think put that project in the bottom drawer and wait for the next commodity super cycle to kick in.
I also note Arrium is hoping to raise close to $1b.

Oz Minerals Share price has gone up 25% since the beginning of October. The company
made an announcement on Tuesday this week which included good new about their Carrapateena
project here in SA. The first page of the announcement is below.
My research indicates that Copper will become a very important commodity in the future and Carrapatenna
is one of the best Copper deposits in the world according to the Managing Director of Oz Minerals. Seems like
one of the issues is that mining the copper from Carrapateena is not so easy.
Carrapateena Update –
61Mt @ 2.9% CuEq
Summary:
New Carrapateena high grade resource defined; 61Mt @ 2.9% CuEq1
High grade option priority escalated with a more attractive investment proposition likely
Scoping study aiming to define (up to) 3 Mtpa option with indicative capital of
less than $1 billion
OZ Minerals is today releasing a new resource statement for the high grade core of the
Carrapateena deposit that could potentially lead to an accelerated project that kickstarts
development of this world-class resource.
Since purchasing the Carrapatenna copper-gold deposit in 2011, OZ Minerals has
undertaken a significant amount of work on how to best develop this asset. Most
recently with the OZ Minerals strategy announced in April 2015, the Company
committed to evaluate three development options for Carrapateena including a value
optimised stand-alone block cave project, a Gawler Craton strategy linking
Carrapateena to its Prominent Hill mine via a 250-kilometre rail line, and a high grade
option.
On the latter, reanalysis of existing data has identified a high grade resource of 61Mt at
2.9% CuEq. These results have led to the immediate initiation of a scoping study aiming
to define a potential mining and processing project of up to 3 Mtpa requiring capital of
less than $1 billion using selective mining methods. Included in this study will be an
assessment of early mine access options.
This mineralisation (Table 1) is contained within the larger Resource announced
28 November 2013. The Mineral Resource is reported in compliance with JORC 2012
and details of the new Resource can be found in the attached explanatory notes.
“Carrapateena is a world class deposit and the high grade option has the potential to
kick-start the development of this very large resource. Importantly, if this scoping study
is successful, it could see greater shareholder returns generated sooner, with local job
creation and investment accelerated,” said Andrew Cole, Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer.

I can't believe on reading in the Australian today, Jane Lomax- smith, has been placed in charge of fielding applications from companies interested in setting up in Leigh creek following the demise of the local coal operation. How do these dinosaurs keep popping up. And is such an anti development figure really the best person to but in charge of companies seeking to capitalise on coal "fracking" for gas?

Is she really "such an anti development figure"? That seems a little harsh given (from memory) all she explicitly opposed was the motorsports corporate grandstand, and opposing that hardly meant being anti-development. Several of us on here - including me - also opposed, and none of us could be described as such.

The huge iron ore resource just three hours from Adelaide
The world’s largest undeveloped magnetised iron ore resource is just three hours from Adelaide, with proponents of a new push to develop the area arguing that it could position South Australia as a global resources player to rival the Pilbara.
The little-publicised Mawson Iron Project in the Braemar Region, 280 kilometres north-east of Adelaide, is an amalgamation of Royal Resources Ltd and Lodestone Equities Pty Ltd. The combined cluster of 10 tenements is estimated to contain four billion tonnes of resource, challenging Olympic Dam as the state’s largest resource reserve.
The proposed $4.8 billion project has about 180-200 square kilometres of strike land and aims to draw first ore from the Razorback mine by quarter three 2020 and ramp up to 100 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) within four years.

Go ahead!
OZ Minerals approves Carrapateena project
THE OZ Minerals board approved the $916 million development of the Carrapateena copper gold mine on Thursday, August 24.
The Carrapateena mine – Australia’s largest undeveloped copper mine and South Australia’s second biggest copper mine after Olympic Dam – is located on the eastern margin of the Gawler Craton, 160 kilometres north of Port Augusta.
.... “Carrapateena is now firmly established as a high quality project in its own right with opportunities identified including expanding the existing cave footprint and accessing satellite deposits.”
Good news for Port Augusta
On the back of the announcements of the solar thermal power plant in Port Augusta and BHP Olympic Dam’s Local Buying Program in the Upper Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta Mayor Sam Johnson said it was a fantastic time for the region.
.... “We've gone from having bad news and wondering what our next project is going to be, to having a number of projects which are all going to benefit Port Augusta.”
OZ Minerals representatives estimated at an Information Session in June that about 1000 jobs would be created through Carrapateena’s construction and operation phases.
Transcontinental:

OzMinerals website ...
Through local procurement and local employment policies, OZ Minerals is focused on opportunities for South Australians with particular attention on the Upper Spencer Gulf and Outback Communities.
In addition to the mine...
.... A Concentrate Treatment Plant (CTP) is being proposed in alignment with the Carrapateena project.
The CTP is an innovative solution to managing impurities present in copper concentrate. The plant combines new chemistry with existing technology ...
Possible location?
More good news to come?

Copper Concentrate from their Prominent Hill mine (near Coober Pedy) is taken by rail to Port Adelaide where it is loaded onto ships and exported. I'd imagine that any processing plant would be located either onsite at the mine, or at a location somewhere near the rail line. Port Augusta? Port Adelaide? Somewhere else? Could be anyone's guess...

Most recent I can find is
Q1 update which says the preferred site is near Port Augusta. Earlier thoughts had included signing an MoU with Arrium to build it at Whyalla.
