No the DIFFERENCE is six and a half inches, the gap is that minus the width of one rail, so 3 inches or less depending on the type of rail used. The problem is brake hoses, ballast (rock) and the like can get jammed in between the rails, but can be hard to spot.

As for dual gauge stations, try finding one ?
Broad and Standard to be specific, Keswick interstate is the only one that comes to mind, but the broad gauge is disconnected.

With reference to difference and gap you are right mate! Shame on me, being interested in railways too!.

With reference to duAl gauge stns - I was referring over a longer time span rather than just currently. Take the Rosewater for example.

And yes, it does require maintenance to keep an effective clearway but is still operable.

Ten points for the correct spelling, but I'll have to take your gunzel badge away for the gap issue. ;)

Port Adelaide had dual gauge for a while.

It really had 5 rails.

Thanks mate - I feel much better now :D  You know the duel/dual scenario was probably a function of the 'fat finger' syndrome.

BTW - sorry for causing a drift from the thread topic.

I love whingeing about this project. I just can't believe they are still working on it.

Does anyone know if it has gone over budget?

Don't worry, when I am in my car I do alot of it. I love the project, just not the construction workers!

BTW the landscaping looks great. Only compliant to that retainer wall near the thebby stop. My god its ugly.
