Crane Counter: CBD 9 | Metro 5| Total 14
Dakota got scrapped, and what I heard there are discussions for further use of the site, one option being a 15 lvl resi.
Interesting fact: World oil prices going through the roof have actually given a big lifeline to the apartment market. People are wanting to live in the city to avoid using their cars to commute to and from the city.

thanks for clearing that up for me. In that case the information on emporis is in-correct.Pikey wrote:the DA is approved at 15 levels, 13 are office, and 2 retail. 64m was the height of the 15 level DA, according to an email I got back from the ACC.
Also, it looks like another 15 level building is being planned for the Dakota site, all residential though.
The 15 level apartment tower proposal sounds promising, hopefully it will become a reality.

That's some crazy shit right there!
Anybody who lived in Adelaide during the 90's should be happy with that.

With one exception.
The IAG building.
Now, I haven't made my feelings about this building known, but suffice to say, I don't agree with that building. Just to elaborate, that building is that much of a #$%^ing disgrace that i'm browsing the virgin blue website right now.
The Australian Building Greenhouse Rating has got to be the biggest joke going around since Port Adelaide V Sydney Qualifying Final.
Someone have a seat right here and give me an explanation how a building with 8 levels of CAR PARK CAN HAVE A 5 STAR GREEN RATING.
That is all.

well even if only half of these get built you'd have to say it truly is boomtime in Adelaide
few others worth mentioning?:
- Globe apts in Synagogue place – 16 levels (possibly canned?)
- Makris proposal for a 10 level office tower above City Cross Arcade (most probably canned)
- Proposal for apartments tacked onto the back of the freemasons building in nth tce (only info from a 1 yr old advertiser story)
- several 5-7 storey apartments on Sth Tce
- 5 level Palais site on Nth Tce
- eco-design competition apartments for Whitmore Sq (up to 5 storeys from memory)
- Fuj apartments (9 levels?)
- and last and least (according to some ) the 16 level student accommodation proposal for Hindley St

Re: Quick development list off the top of my head
not pointless at all.. i've been trying to map it out in photoshop so this helps. soon as i have addresses for them all i'll post it up.Pants wrote:Sorry for a relatively pointless thread, but I just wanted to work things through in print to make sure all this development is really going on.
Globe Apartments had severe trouble because it was proposed in a 9 level height limit zone. I haven't read up on it lately, but I wouldn't be surprised (or sad) if it's gone tits up.Adelarch wrote:well even if only half of these get built you'd have to say it truly is boomtime in Adelaide

Makris group pulled out of the 10 storey commercial building on city cross. And ACC is pissed, because it's a prime location left severely underdeveloped.
