Just an update... thought that if anyone was interested in writing articles etc these are the rest of the deadlines for the upcoming editions and the year:

July 14 - enviro-dit (This upcoming edition will be dealing with the theme of the environment if you would like to write about development and the environmental impact, but this is not a necessity)

July 28

Aug 11

Aug 25

Sept 22

Oct 6

1 page articles are from 800-1000 and 2 page-rs are about 1200-1500

We enjoy feature articles and often get lots of political ones, something a bit different would be nice... maybe a wrap of what is actually happening in Adelaide... or a plea for pro development in SA but delving into the merits of better architecture etc... anyway, I'm just putting it out there again, not everyone knows there are avenues to have writing published.

Cheers.

Pfft, student newspapers are for telling me where to get good, cheap schnitzel, not thought-provoking pom-pom like this website of ours.

As News subbie, I try not to be too political, though I am highly opinionated. However, one group of potential editors for next year have offered me a place as travel writer, and I will inevitably include a lot about why German local councils are far superior to the ACC.

A competent municipality would have had North Tce upgrades finished by now, as a friend so eloquently put it: six months ago!

It's still going? Geez.

I remember the 'Tiser complaining about the tram line works disrupting North Terrace, when in reality it was caused by the ACC's lane closures on the east end. The tram line has been proposed, approved, built, opened and now proposed again in the time this project has been going.

Isn't there a lack of funding from the state to finish it?

Speaking of the ACC-
They're now stripped of their planning powers for developments worth more than $10mil.

I assume most people on this forum are happy? (Said with no small disgust)

I miss Empire Times. All we have now is a quarterly. I wonder if they've found a name for this new one yet...I'll see if I can find out from my friends on the council.
Forgot to mention that it's been relaunched as Libertine Magazine.

It's clean and nice, but it really lacks any kind of character, same with Entropy. I like that On Dit is a street press and still printed on dodgy paper etc. UniSA markets theirs as an "urban lifestyle magazine" and has ads for Dolce and Gabbana and Peugot :wank: :wank: :wank: :wank:

Hi all, on behalf of the 2009 On Dit editorial team I invite you to have a look at the new On Dit. It's nicer paper, but it's still as 'dit as before. If you have any rants/opinions/gripes/diatribes/exultations, please write to us and we'll find a place to cram it in :) I'll start uploading links to the new website with .pdf's of every edition and the main feature article to go up very soon!

Cheerio,
On Dit
