Thanks for the news. There's no shortage of wasted land in West Lakes, in form of the mall's car park. Pitty Westfield isn't going to let go of it any time soon.

Isn't this part of the SANFL's proposal to raise funds for the stadium upgrade by developing its landholding?

Can't be. Some of these proposals/visions are on the waterfront

I suspect the waterfront pics are the site of the council reserve on the waterfront [Brebner Drive] that was put up for discussion as a new library/community centre with apartments above it.

why not?
You are in your early to mid 20s aren't you? You still have a good 60 years left in you. Surely by then the NIMBYs will be dead.

Nimbys are everlasting and pas from generation to genration. There will always be someone wanting to protect their own piece of "paradise" as they like to think. I would say with time councils will become more pro development as we have to build up and not out.
I was just being cynical.

I didn't mean to provoke you. In fact when I read your first post I had a bit of a laugh to myself as I got a mental image of this:
and I thought to myself, "imagine these blokes at 140 years!"

What a fantastic proposal. West Lakes is turning into a high rise area - esp. along the water. Seems there is not the resistance that exists in Glenelg
