Interesting there is little comment from you guys about "SBS World News Australia" at 9:30pm weeknights. If you are yet to watch please give it a go. Balanced content, no hype/spin, good journalism, balance of local & world affairs, and leaves out all the sensationalised local "pseudo news stories" that get played to death on the commercial channels.

I don't trust news delivered by people dressed in oversized polka-dots or tweed, or any frightening combination of both.

I personally think "news" on a commercial station is merely entertainment, verging on sensationalism, whereas the news on both SBS and ABC is more inline with the traditional definition of news
