I reckon 'Sydmeladperbrisho' would have been a better name for the city than 'Canberra'. Waddya think...?

No, I think Canberra's a much better name. An Aboriginal word for meeting place is the ideal name for our national capital.

Also there are plenty of problems with Sydmeladperbrisho:
• There'd probably be some resentment of the order and of Brisbane getting four letters while Adelaide only gets two.
• Having two major cities starting with Syd would create a lot of confusion.
• A name made up of state capitals would be seen as a snub by many rural Australians
• What happens if a territory becomes a state? Would we have to change our national capital's name?

I think a good name would be "Tongueincheek"

Had it be named Sydmeladperbrisho, I think it would've just ended up being called 'Ho'.

No it's not called tongue in cheek. It's called being right when there's an opportunity to be right.
