Awesome tower still! SO Al, how'd you get all this info about it, or would you have to kill me if you told me??!!!!!!
You know how I said Hines are trying to secure a main tenant... I saw one of these proposals. From the 18-20 month build trimeframe, I would take a guess and say early 2006 is then they will demolish the old building.
Just smile and wave boys!

Bovis LL is the preferred builder.

i love the design of this building and it shows great height too. in reagrds to the original 26 floor proposal, that wouldve been roughly about 98m tall. since 68m divided by 18 floors gives 3.7m a floor... the 26 floors wouldve added up to about 98m.... which is a big loss to adelaide, but other than that i am happy with the design and height of the new one.

Advertising boards have gone up today. They show an official site of
www.conservatoryonhindmarsh.com.au but nothing's there yet.
Hines' site has been updated though. Here's a new render:

The render is great, but I really don't think the building is going to show that much of the structure, nor is the glass going to be that colour.

$70m plan for 'green' city complex
RHIANNON HOYLE
16jun06
CONSTRUCTION will begin in December on a $70 million apartment and office development in Hindmarsh Square.
The Conservatory, on the former RAA site, will feature retail space at ground level followed by four floors of ventilated car parking and five of commercial accommodation. Atop will be nine floors of residential space - 53 apartments and two multi-million dollar penthouses.
Touted by developers as the first multi-purpose building of its kind in Australia, the 19-storey project aims to achieve up to a 95 per cent reduction in common energy consumption.
Energy saving initiatives include free on-site electricity generated by solar panels on the north facade and a natural gas-fired turbine, water provided by two 12 kL rainwater tanks and a cut in electricity costs from motion sensor lighting.
Premier Mike Rann has applauded the green technology approach of the developers, Babcock and Brown and Hines Group.
