Whoa, fingers crossed this is a real project and not just the fantasy of a few bored architects doodling in their spare time.
I disagree entirely with the "not Adelaide" comments. This is the Adelaide now:

I'll believe it when I see it!! Looks unreal though. Come on Adelaide, get behind it?

Ghastly design, unsympathetic to its surroundings and far too wide. This tower is far too ugly and in the wrong location for it to flood our rather small CBD property market with living space for the next 10 years. No thanks.

Looks fantastic, I love it and wish with the intensity of 1000 fiery suns that it would get built. Alas, too good to be true, no doubt. Get Gina R on the phone and stick some cash into this, now!

this would of made a great hotel and impact on the riverbank precinct if it was located down there

I'm absolutely 100% pro-development, but sorry folks this is pure fantasy ...

I would say around 170-180m
That's a bit optimistic mate. Judging by how it looks against its neighbouring buildings, I would say it would be the same height as the Westpac Building.

I like the copper-ish tower section, but on that site it's ugly and oppressive in combination with the sandstone-y lower section. Also, given this is in the legal precinct and is actually state government land reserved for future expansion of court facilities (the need for which has been growing in last couple years IIRC), I'm not sure that this is the right location for this kind of development.
Kudos to JPE though for trying to envisage an Adelaide style (I think the elements are spot on).

Looks much taller than Westpac.

Like it, but don't love it.
Love the fact that it's detailed, bold and well thought through, but some of the concepts they've no doubt used to justify the various components of the building don't mesh well together, even if they are meant to be distinct. Still, the enjoyment/appreciation of architecture's a purely subjective thing, so I'm at least very glad they've given us something to talk about.
As for height, if my memory's serving me well, the general rule of thumb is 3m per residential floor and 3.7m per commercial, so 135m to 166.5m plus plant depending on the make-up of the floors is my guess.
