What would you all say if I rebuilt a 1 meter long fence with 8 dyna bolts, 40 nails and 4 steel plates?

Close, but much less Broadway and more techno-polka.

"You crazy!"

Nails don't work on steel plates ;)

All the 30 year old dowel joints in the timber framefor the fence were 'loose' so I just got some steel plates to hold the pieces together. I used the corrugated iron itself to hold the timber crossmember up and it is holding the entire frame in tension! That is part of the reason why I have 40 nails used rather then the original 18. As for the 8 dyna bolts, I used 5 of them at the bottom of the frame and another 3 on a new piece of timber attached to the wall of the house. Because I used only 2 steel plates to hold the joints together, I used the other two to join the old frame to the new post on the wall. Now, it is all very rigid.

I just wish the gate was a standard size, not custom made! It looks like crap.

Therefore, sitting on the table right on front of me is a bottle of wine worth more than I am, with no immediate purpose.

I don't think I can bear leaving it alone until the next 21st comes along.
Nom d'un petit bon homme! You need some friends, as drinking alone is just sad. What brand is it?
