[COM] Re: #U/C: SGIC Refurbishment
Love your work Crawf.
The question still remains, are they going to replace the 8 levels of black glass? I'm really hoping so.

Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

Thanks mono.
Yeah I hope so too, the revamp looks not bad in that photo. Though can't say I like that podium.

Pure speculation, but perhaps there's an issue with the tenants of those levels not able to give access for the workers?monotonehell wrote:Love your work Crawf.

I would say it is possible they are waiting to complete the lower floors that are currently being worked on and which have not been occupied by GHD and allow those companies on the upper floors to move into these lower floors and then do the upper floors that are remaining. Sorry that gets a bit confusing
[COM] Re: #U/C: SGIC Refurbishment
Quite likely. That sort of thing goes on all the time.UrbanSG wrote:I would say it is possible they are waiting to complete the lower floors that are currently being worked on and which have not been occupied by GHD and allow those companies on the upper floors to move into these lower floors and then do the upper floors that are remaining. Looks like finally SGIC signage is to be replaced.

[COM] Re: #U/C: SGIC Refurbishment
i've a mate who is a lawyer on one of the upper floors. Many tenants have ~3years to run on their leases and are refusing to move just so pretty glass can be affixed to the building. They want compensation for the cost of moving to lower floors (and back again later) including big $$$ for loss of income (and we all know lawyers get paid megabucks by the minute) but apparently the owners don't want to pay that much compensation. Catch 22.rhino wrote:Quite likely. Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Are you serious?
So, this thing will potentially be half finished for 3 years.
What a fucking joke.

You would think that the landlord would have some sort of standard "renovation vacancy clause" in the lease agreement. Self-inflicted joke it seems.Pikey wrote:Are you serious?

i share your concern, but also empathise with my mate. Why should he fund the owner/landlords desire to renovate the building? He's got payments to make on his yacht, holiday house, sports car, secret girlfriend, etc...bm7500 wrote:Lawyers.... they will always find some way to F#@k you over.... looks like they have F#@ked all of Adelaide this time
Seriously, i hope all parties sort it out soon.

[COM] Re: #U/C: SGIC Refurbishment
Thanks for sign application info Ben. I was wondering when GHD were finally going to get naming rights. Should look good having some blue neon lighting at that end of town, and get rid of that ugly old style SGIC signage.
In regards to the lawyers it is just that lawyers flexing their powerful (in dollar terms only) muscle. I have been up to a few of those offices before and they are pretty crappy. Once they see the redeveloped lower floors I am sure they will be willing to move.... for a slightly lower price

What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish?bm7500 wrote:Lawyers.... they will always find some way to F#@k you over.... looks like they have F#@ked all of Adelaide this time
One's a scum-sucking bottom-dweller, and the other one's a fish.
