The optus building's view of the city will be blocked on the top floors, which is prime valuable office space. If the view is blocked, the value of those floors would go down, hence that's where i think the problem lies and why the owner of the optus building complianed.
From what I understand, that would be quite a legal precedent. Owners of property have no legal ownership to the view from it, thus don't have any legal leg to stand on when someone drops a building (or a tree) in their way. It'd be the type of thing that the courts have tested many times.

Took an Adelaide CEO on a tour of construction sites in the city, (as you do) could not believe what was happening in the CBD - very interested. This one took his attention as did the Repco and Currie St. sites. Thanks for all your input guys - it helped me 'sell' Adelaide - again!

I know Ben has said this building is 60metres in height. I saw plans last week showing the height to the top of roof as 60.25metres. Is that being pedantic?
The visual height is virtually the same as Optus - you won't tell the difference.
Cheers

Buildings have been demolished. I would think site will be totally cleared by the end of the weekend.

Wouldn't Urban Construct take that title? A few from the top of my head:
- 2 Billion $ Newport Quays
The Precinct
Aurora
Holdfast Shores
The Pier
Platinum
The Convention Centre

Urban Construct is a property development group, not a construction group.
