I was thinking the new thread was for major named events (such as you named), but I'm quite happy to put the smaller ones in too, if they don't lead to clutter.Wayno wrote:Just so everyone knows, Howie recently created an EVENTS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA top level discussion thread.
Use it to discuss the variety of events happening around SA such as Clipsal, Womad, Fringe, Royal Adelaide Show, Tunarama, Cabaret Festival, OzAsia, Guitar Fest, and the hundreds of other exhibitions, shows, demos and offerings (including the ones stated by Xaragmata above).
Enjoy!

There's some good events on next weekend
On sat night there's some heavy metal bands (Parkway Drive & Others) playing in the Adelaide Uni Cloisters.
Apparently 3,500 tickets sold.
On Monday (public holiday) Parklife is on which includes the Dandy warhols and Groove Armada.

So you're going to Parklife ?
If you take any pics then feel free to post them on here.
It's a strong line up. Should be a good crowd there.

Get set for some beer guzzling, slap dancing and traditional Bavarian fare as Munich’s famous Oktoberfest arrives in town.
Starting tomorrow (Friday, October 1) and every Friday throughout the month, the SA German Association will stage its own version of Oktoberfest at the club’s Flinders St headquarters.
In true German style, revellers will be treated to traditional German food, bands, slap dancing, drinks and games.
Other entertainment includes prizes for the best-dressed Bavarian, Jagermeister giveaways and a “strong arm competition” where competitors battle it out to see who can hold a beer stein the longest.
“Last year’s Oktoberfest saw thousands converge on the German Club for a taste of the Munich atmosphere, and it’s sure to be even bigger in 2010,” Oktoberfest coordinator Rachel Kurenda says.
Oktoberfest, SA German Club, 223 Flinders St, Adelaide, every Friday in October from 6pm till late. Tickets are $10 and includes a beer stein.

Re: What's Happening in Adelaide
Moving City was good value today. Good music, a few fun events, free sausage sizzle, bike racing (for anyone!) through the U-Park centre, and some funky bikes. I estimate 500-700 people over the length of the street at lunchtime - here's a few pikkies...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Re: What's Happening in Adelaide
and a few more Moving City pikkies - love the custom chopper bikes!!
