Not to mention the effect this would have on families, and children in particular. Wake your kids up at 5:30am because they have to be in childcare in time for you to get on the public transport before 7:00am!

There are people out there that actually will get up that early. Oldies, in particular, will do it. Its a bit of a "trickle down effect", they leave a seat vacant a bit later on in the morning that is used by someone else etc

Woes caused by decades of WOEFUL government with
inadequate spending both state and federal for SA
roads, rail and the like... and the most WOEFUL of them
all Don Dunstan who sold of the land acquired for the
MATS plan and used it to mostly fund art and festival
events etc... great forward thinking their you hillbilly.

Actually, the Dunstan Government shelved the MATS plan but held on to the land in case the plan was re-instated later on. It was David Tonkin's Government that totally finished it by selling the land.ozisnowman wrote:Woes caused by decades of WOEFUL government with

I'd suggest you hold back the vitriol until you get your facts straight. Don Dustan did a lot of good for the image of South Australia and was a very forward thinking and 'modern' premier. He took over from a very conservative government. The arts is an important thing to fund, look at what Adelaide is well known for these days. Dunstan put aside the MATS plan due to overwhelming public opposition. Well, theres one thing we can all agree on and that is that the North/South freeway should have been built, when it was available! As for the rest, they were just piddly extensions to make Adelaide look like some mini-LA in the making, which is not what we would have wanted.

Oooh perdy virtual tour... *watches* I love how the train only has 5 people on it and the next one is 3mins away. *coughbollockscough* But I love glass enclosed platforms with sliding doors. They are teh awesome. Most of it, probably not quite all of it. The western part of the line between Epping and Rouse Hill has been in planning as a separate line for quite a while, originally to follow on from the current Chatswood to Epping line that will begin to operate in 2008. Now it looks as if it would be incorporated into part of the new line via the inner west direct to Wynyard. Strange sort of metro though, most metros have stations closer together than usual commuter rail services, it seems to be the other way around in the plans. It's going to be interesting to see how they reconfigure the existing Wynyard Station as it is already has several levels of tunnels as well as how they will avoid some of the half built abandoned tunnels. For too long there's been too much emphasis on funnelling services down the inner west corridor between Redfern and Strathfield.Shuz wrote:So is that entire line underground?
