From what I saw on the news last night - it looked awesome.

From what I've heard, the ACC is encouraging owners of the other corners of the intersection to allow billboards and other "Interactive Advertising.

Don't be surprised if you see 2 massive screens above the Commonwealth Bank soon.

I like it, unfortunately everything is gonna look conservative after seeing the render for the currie st development. anyhow this will beef up that part of the city. good luck to the developers trying to fill it up. adelaide is going to be satyurated with offic space

I'm talking about the smaller one with the red, yellow and blue lights.

Would look brilliant.

As Anne Moran said (god, I can't believe I'm agreeing with her) - where would you watch?
There's not a lot of space apart from the end of the mall.
It's an intersection after all.

Where would be a better spot to put a wall of screens?
It could still be video screens even if you dont sit down and watch it...It just ads the element of animation to the 'billboard' which will be placed there now.

Do you think people sit down and watch video screens in times square?
I was under the impression the "lights" would be animated, in terms of changing colour, etc.
Hope this is the case, otherwise the idea is pretty pointless all round.

In regards to sitting down and watching the screens, that was the initial idea - to create a meeting place for events such as the AFL Grand Final, World Cup Soccer, Olympics, etc, so if this is what they were after, this spot probably wasn't the best place.

i think if "the block" was redeveloped with hindmarsh square in a way that could incorporate a meeting typed area with LED screens, etc. could work

Precisely what i was thinking. Another 30000odd sqm. Doubtful they will find a tennant cause of its positioning. Still it looks quite good. Got that commonwealth law courts thing going on, and to a lesser extent the BHP and law courts in Melb. Its quite large and i think it would be very dominating down that part of town if built. Me like.

I was having a look at the plans, and the images actually show 2 different developments. The one relevant to this thread is called EDGE, and it is the more convetional looking building. The curvy facade belongs to another development called WAVE, which is another building. That one has its own thread at 11-19 Gilles Street.

Edge offers 4 944 sqm2 of office space, which is not that much, and it will appeal to small firms, different to those looking at the larger office developemnts..

^^^^ Haha, ok was a bit off with my prediction of 30000sqm. 6500sqm could be filled quite easily. Loving that wave building, very 'goldcoast' like. Would love to see this one go ahead, as it wouldnt really be detrimental to any other major projects.

the curvy one looks like it could be a resi as the renders on the website appear to have balconies.

Did anyone tape it and put it on Youtube?

Isnt there plans to put a huge LCD screen on the City Cross Arcade?

I thought those plans were approved and withdrawn by the vendor.

Such stunning development for that side of town. I thought this one had died or is that the 400KWS?
