It seems the whole CBD of Adelaide has been rearranged around this development.

I think there's been a massive opportunity here lost to use the Western facade of the building as a power generation source. I forget the name of the building, but there is a tower in Melbourne that has use a blank wall as a massive solar panel installation, however they have been installed in a moire/bitmap pattern to form an image.

The western façade is similar in form to Uno on waymouth with its recessed centre. I quite like what they did with Uno, incorporating some bannisters and the vertical garden actually looks amazing in season.
They don't have to completely cover it in glass to make it look cool. Something. Anything.

Agreed. Surely not hard to put a vertical garden on the side, can't be worse than a blank wall

Totally agree. Blank walls are one thing, but the visual bulk of them can be reduced. I'm hoping that they utilize the wall for either some form of public art or as you've mentioned a high and mighty vertical garden. It would look great, however with no indication of either, I wont be hold my breath!mshagg wrote:The western façade is similar in form to Uno on waymouth with its recessed centre. But nothing will grow there because, like, the lawcourts totally block out the light.

Vertical garden won't happen on a wall of that height, too costly to maintain, and even if it did it would take some years to grow. They'd be better off trying to incorporate some reflective glass onto that wall to make it look as though it's more than just a wall. Either way, won't change, we're stuck with that wall for as long as the law building remains next-door which will likely be forever.

How far off is demolition of the sales office?
[COM] Re: 27-31 Angas Street | 103m | 30 lvls | Kodo Apartments
I'd say its unlikely to be this year...

Yes, it's more likely to kick off in the new year - I doubt a contractor would want to be setting up on site this time of year only to have to pay for a month or so of downtime over the holiday season.

I read an article in business section of the Advertiser a while back (sorry I cant be bothered finding it) where the manager of Watpac said the build of Kodo should commence around March/April 2017.
Watpac are due to hand over Adelaide Central (the Grote St building) in February 2017 and Kodo will follow on from this.

The display office is closing next week and will reopen on 3rd Jan in the building next door. This is the date Watpac will also be on site to start site works.
