Yes true. Will they have naming rights on that one do you know? Is it simply a move from Grenfell Street or some additional take up?

Additional take up for the Olympic Dam team. No announcement on naming rights but you would assume so given the prime location.

The South Australian election is fast approaching and the Labor Party, Liberal Party and Nick Xenophon's SA Best have all been announcing policies for months. Here's a look at what's been promised so far.

Labor have just announced $30M funding for a new health hub at the Health & Medical precinct on North Terrace, consisting of an eye hospital, chronic diseases clinic and a nurse-lead procedures clinic for minor injuries.

Who watched the leader's debate last night on ABC? If not, it's still available to watch on iView for those interested.

I thought Jay Weatherill was the clear winner by a mile. He showed authority, leadership and passion and spoke convincingly of his achievements. His weak spot was clearly Oakden and the child protection system failures - his tone was noticeably quieter and he almost appeared as if ashamed (rightly so).

Xenophon was all talk and gave very little substance or policy detail. He struggled to give a convincing argument about his proposal for a community electricity retailer. Embarrassingly, he didn't even answer a question about improving the creative arts industry in Adelaide and somehow responded in turn about increasing residents in the CBD and population density.

Marshall came across rather negative and at times a bit of a drone and bland and tended to back down when Weatherill went on the attack against him. He didn't speak with the same sort of gusto and conviction about his policies compared to Jay.

I think this has turned into an election that is entirely Xenophon's to lose. The lack of policy detail is extremely concerning. I don't see him winning 11 or more seats as the pollsters predict. He'd be lucky to get one or two.

I still don't think either will get a majority, but all eyes should be on Brock, Bedford, Xenophon and Bell and possibly McFetridge and any of the Adelaide Hills seats. And also the seat of Mawson (covering McLaren Vale region) as it is a bellweather seat. Since 1980ish or so, whichever party has won that seat has gone on to form Government.

This exactly. I'd struggle to see how anyone could have watched it and come to any other conclusion - regardless of political persuasion.

Interestingly, I can't see that the Advertiser's covered the debate at all - presumably they realised there's was no way they could spin it to make Marshall look like the winner.

But, how much of the voting public actually watch these debates is another question.

No coverage of the $30m health hub announcement either, by Advertiser or InDaily. The Guardian did report on the debate, it was even the lead story for a good part of today, but it mostly focussed on Xenophon's performance (I assume because it's more interesting outside SA).

Weatherill was definitely the strongest in the debate, but I'm not sure how much it will sway people. I would have liked to have seen some more questions digging into specific policy announcements. Felt like only a couple things got a lot of attention and then time was up.

Apparently, yes.

There were embarrassingly few people in the audience for the debate too. I don’t know if there were a number or no-shows, or if the ABC bungled the guestlist. I received an email invite from them but by the time I clicked through to register the link was dead.

Still in substance the debate covered the key topics if a little repetitively. Weatherill won IMO, but Marshall was far better spoken than I expected (even if reliant on completely disingenuous statistics). Xenophon completely fumbled.
