Thanks, they weren't there yesterday when I went past - they don't mess around when they move onto the site.

Goodbye Academy...
On a side note, I think that All State demolition is going to get quite a nasty letter from a few residents of Bent St. Apartments as dust and debris flew into balconies.
I have my letter ready...

This site has been cleared so quickly. Which building do you think will be constructed first - apartment
or the hotel ? Is there any history of previous developments in Adelaide which helps answer
this question ?

yeah I must admit when i rode past, their demolition techniques werent the most careful, was funny actually. Looked like they were having lots of fun. Usually they have someone with a hose sprinkling the dust, but not today.
Lets hope the new buildings start soon, unlike over the other side of Hindmarsh Sq

If this is profit/ finance driven, the first up will be the one that gives the greatest returns. I have no other indicators to refer to at present. It many seem a cynical answer. I stand corrected if needed. Whatever way it is, it will greatly improve that corner of HSQ. The driver for me is whatever will make Adelaide more attractive, lively, cosmopolitan and competitive with the other capitals (where we can have pride in our city).

Made further enquries today and buildings will be constructed simultaneously - makes economic sense, neither the
hotel or apartment residents will be unduly affected and also the council want the least amount of
disruptions and road closures etc

Another update from our mate James Hines from Hines Group.
With regards to 20 Hindmarsh Square, demolition is nearly complete, with some rubble removal and minor demolition works still ongoing. We expect to be in a position to announce the builder in the coming weeks. I can confirm for all the crane buffs, that our plans for construction include 2 tower cranes for this project, as both towers (hotel and apartment) will be constructed simultaneously.
I really can't wait to see the two tower cranes to come up!
