Apple is a bit eh with me lately, even more so now that I have seen this. Kind of frustrating. I thought they had job interviews and everything, though?

Seems almost as minimalist as the Apple Store hoarding, but here's the TV ad.

Most companies would publicise it as much as possible. I'm quite sure most people in Adelaide are very well aware the store's opening anyway.
I don't understand your displeasure?

so you haven't been able to tell people with certainty that Apple is opening? but so what?

It is a store opening, not a promotion for Adelaide.
It's not that I'm displeased with Apple. I'm just not actually impressed by such marketing. But then again, having worked in marketing a bit I'm not easily impressed by any kind of marketing. For example if I hear a shop is having a sale I never see that as a reason to go and snap up a bargain. I just realise that the shop charges artificially inflated prices when they're not having a sale. Makes me lose trust in the brand.

Call me cynical but I prefer to shop where the prices are fair all the time.

Only 4 days to go until it opens! Some final construction shots including a few preliminary interior shots!

Thanks for the photos Scooter!

Talk about a scoop! How on earth did you get inside the construction site?

By using the elevators & the fire escape stairway!

So I find out one of my mates got a job at Apple. they start 5 weeks of training from April 2nd in Sydney so I would assume it won't open until may.

Hahaha good on you mate. Looks like you nearly got kicked out a few times by the look of some people.

You champion! Any clear signs of that Grenfell Street shop-front being an Officeworks?

Any idea if they'll be re-aligning Grenfell Street, removing the concrete floor that was created outside the building on the Grenfell Street side and moving the bus stops back before the opening or soon about's? Or does that all happen when the Adelaide/Bendigo Bank building is finished?

I'll reserve my final judgement until I have seen it open, but from the photos I do not like the look of Coles with no ceiling. It looks almost as if they built Coles inside the old Harris Scarfe building (really shabby overhead). The rest looks fine though although in parts it looks like there's a lot more than 4 days work to do!

Coles very rarely use ceilings. I've worked in 4 stores, none of which have had one, and I'm pretty sure the new McLaren Vale store which was only opened a couple of weeks ago, doesn't have one either. Granted Rundle Place does have other retail on top of it, and is a basement level store so there are a lot more services to try and blend in.

Thanks for the pics though
