As a matter of interest, when have I been wrong about any example of political skullduggery I've mentioned here?
As a matter of interest, when have you been correct about any of your mud slinging against the Labor Party(lets call it what you really are doing)??

So here we have, what is proving to be the most corrupt government in history, having done dodgy deals with anyone they could to get/stay in power, and instead of showing concern about the state of affairs, we are just getting stuck into someone who bothers to read up on what these politicians are up to and post it here for us to read? Who cares if stumpy is a liberal stooge. This stuff is not hearsay. It is being played out in courtrooms as we speak. The list of names with connections to government and unions is lengthy in regard to corruption and illegal activity, and yet some here get upset because someone highlights it and it makes the labour party look bad?....oh please!

The problem is that's not what Stumpjumper does. He posts "scoops" that are not reported elsewhere. He doesn't read about this, he apparently has moles everywhere. It IS hearsay by its definition.

If you want a daily dose of Labor bashing and shit throwing, just read the Tele, The Australian or any other Murdoch rag.

There's rot on both sides of politics and it's interesting to note how quickly Ashbygate disappeared from the MSM's radar, not because it's any less important or newsworthy than any Labor "scandal" but because it obviously contravenes their editorial instruction.

Agree that rot exists everywhere in parliament. However, when the rot pertians to the party supposedly running the country, it most certainly becomes more newsworthy, as they hold the fortunes of the country in their hands. If/ when the libs are in, you will get the same scrutiny. The same journalists went ferral on Howard and co when Kevin 07 became the darling of the year. Only I cannot remember a government with such shady dealings going on. Cant blame the Murdochs or anyone else for the crap going on at present, just the labour party leading to their own spctacular downfall.

I struggle to remember a Prime Minister in waiting (it's inevitable it seems) get such an easy ride in the press.

When was Abbott's last hard-hitting interview?
Beyond a schmooze session with Andrew Bolt or a cuppa on Today, he avoids them like the plague.

Given the likelihood his government will be in power in a few months time, he and they deserve proper scrutiny, not either running away from press conferences or avoiding interviews outright.

The lack of media scrutiny on Tony Abbott is exactly why I am genuinely terrified to think of what an Abbott Government would do for our country. Yes, Labor at the moment is absolutely shockingly awful, and even to ask them to lift their game, is a bit of a folly, as they are so far out of their depth, they're not even in the game anymore. But on the other hand, I believe that Tony Abbott and the Conservatives would be worse than what we have now. Australian politics at the moment is an absolute farce, and sadly It is very much a case of better the devil you know.

I am a passionate believer in democracy and liberalism, and have always taken a very keen interest in politics and love to talk about it all day long. However, the situation is just so ridiculous now coming from both major parties, that I am legitimately and purposely going to lodge an informal vote at the Federal Election. I intend to show up, to cross my name off the list, but what I do with pen to paper in that booth will disregard the process altogether.

Then clearly you have forgotten the year prior to Rudd being elected. He was the absolute darling of the media, everyone loved him.

Darling or not, I certainly don't recall him dodging interviews or avoiding being questioned.

Watching Fox Footy today and up pops an ad - promo for Fox footy - starring SA's own ex-Crows Captain, Mark Ricciuto and the deprecatory throwaway line ends with words to the effect that nothing much changes, pretty much like everything in Adelaide.

Nice insult, Mark in a city where there are major infrastructure upgrades happening eg rail upgrade, Southern Expressway, new Hospital etc, UniSA major redevelopment, Rundle Place, the Riverbank precinct, new venues for the Fringe/Festival, initiatives by the ACC .. to name a few.

What is it with well paid, well rewarded sports stars and others who think it's clever or enhances their status to deliver such putdowns on our city/state? It's disappointing to see/hear a high profile South Australian and role model for many kids giving such a negative impression. And this ad will be repeated over and over during the footy season.

Vee, Marks line may have been an attempted joke at the expense of his home town...but please dont include in your list of the marvels we are experiencing things such as "Rundle Place, The Southern Expressway duplication and the supposed rail ugrade. These are nothing remarkable and in the example of the road/rail and hospital spend are catch up on infastructure spending that should have happened years ago. In fact in the case of rail upgrade, we are electrifying and extending an existing line by a few kilometers, oh and fixing up some of our whistlestop stations..the rest wont be happening. We really cant afford to be so easily satisifed.

Even if some of these projects represent us 'catching up', the fact of the matter is that they are happening, and thus they refute these ridiculous claims that not much changes in Adelaide.

I am with Vee on this one. Mark Ricciuto should be ashamed at his comments.

We do not achieve anything from being constantly negative about our state.

I think we need to toughen up, stop playing the victim and reacting to every snide comment in the media or elswhere. Learn to shrug it off and accept the good parts of living in this state. We also need to not get soooo excited about run of the mill infastructure upgrades. It lets the state governments off the hook far too lightly by claiming to be advancing the state with great projects, when in reality come 2014.... its back to sleep and ..cue the chirping crickets...

Sounds like a cheap shot to get some promotion. Either way if people still think Adelaide never changes, than it's them who are stuck in the past. I'm sure in the future, we will look back at this time at when Adelaide finally matured from being a sleepy town into a thriving modern city.

Right now
- Rundle Mall Redevelopment
- Adelaide Oval Redevelopment
- Victoria Square Redevelopment
- Adelaide Convention Centre Expansion
- River Torrens Footbridge
- New Royal Adelaide Hospital
- SAHMRI
- UniSA City West Expansion
- South Road Superway
- Southern Expressway Duplication
- Seaford Line Extension
- Noarlunga/Tonsley line Electrification
- Goodwood Underpass
- Train station upgrades
- $100m Adelaide Airport Carpark & Plaza
- Rundle Place (biggest CBD retail development in 20 years)
- countless other developments and many in planning

Enough said.
