Some photos from today - this is turning out to be an attractive and interesting tower - and finally changed feel of the corner of Nth Tce and KWS
It was a bit grey when the distance photo was taken but gives an idea of the final height

article in the In Daily today about Deloitte moving into the new North Tce building
They included a photo with their name - pretty sure Flinders Uni paid for the naming rights?

Flinders Uni has rights for signage on the North Terrace (southern) frontage.

I've not heard/seen of a building having two sets of naming rights.
So effectively this has about 5 different official & unofficial names now. What a clusterfuck.
- Festival (Plaza) Tower
- Deliotte Tower
- Flinders University Tower
- Government Tower
- Walker Corp Tower
Pick one and stick with it.

Maybe we will have another "world class first", only seen in Adelaide never repeated anywhere else on the planet?
the Deloitte Flinders University Tower. Doesn't sound that bad the more you repeat it with your inside voice

The Plaza area is an absolute joke.
What a completely missed opportunity to turn the space into something usable.
2-3 years of work and for what? some metal trees and a horrible poorly designed car park?
Embarrassing

The old Westpac building on the corner of KWS and North Terrace has three naming rights.

And to make room for it they tore off the beautiful original brass "Bank of New South Wales" lettering. You can still see the marks left behind.

I watched a doco about LA gangs and the crew that tags first often claims the turf.
Flinders needs to know the rules of the game before laying the claim. Good job Deloitte

A big chunk of the plaza space isn't available to use right now because of the ongoing construction, but I feel like this will be the general longer term consensus. Right now this is the new shiny tower going on, in 20 years I think it will be seen like the Riverside Centre, just generic office space that got built as the cost of other development.

All the more reason to oppose Walker building a second, unnecessary tower.

The whole riverfront "redevelopments" are a missed opportunity, but that's a discussion for another thread.

given its not actually a river but a very shallow man-made lake resultant from damming a creek, there's limited activities and transport options available on said 'river' making it less of a waterfront attraction than a real river might be... hence activation of the 'riverbank' areas are also limited
